We are a 26 room lodge in the foothills of the Himalayas in Kangra Valley, Himachal Pradesh. We are a member of the Heritage Hotels Association of India. More recently, we are focusing our efforts towards giving our clients special and memorable experiences.
We believe our USP is that we are situated amidst beautiful Pine forests, Buddhist monasteries, ancient temples, streams and endless village walks. The Para Gliding in Bir has really picked up with the adventure seekers. The Andretta Pottery Society close by offers pottery programs for a range of students from around the globe.

There is tons to learn and experience from this exchange. From tasting local cuisines, to interacting with the owners who are royal family of the erstwhile Princely State of Jammu & Kashmir, to meeting a host of different travellers, adventure seekers, potters, artists, monks, Yoga and spiritual masters. Going on adventurous trips in mountains of Himachal Pradesh. It could be a great journey to discovering yourself through a window of a 5000 year old civilisation.
I am looking for a traveler with good communication skills in English. One of the tasks would be to interact with the guests and give them a guided tour of the property with a full historical background. Also, there would have to be a constant interaction with the guests encouraging them to avail of the paid facilities of the SPA and various adventure activities we offer. The traveller may sometimes be required to accompany the guests on such out door activities. Therefore a basic level of physical fitness would be useful.
We would gladly offer boarding lodging (single bedroom with attached bathroom) and all meals. You will be entitled to buffet meals when served, otherwise, food from regular a la carte menu. It is safest to stick to cooked Indian food and RO filtered water, both of which will be available to you. All meals are served at the dining hall. In addition, there would be cable TV, air conditioning in the room and free wifi on the premises. We are located on a 7 acre estate surrounded by Army containment one 2 sides and Tea estates on the other two sides. We have 24 hour CCTV surveillance and security guards on premises.
Helpers can visit the monastery of His Holiness, the Dalai Lama at Mcleodgunj, 2 hours road journey from us. Go see the paragliders in action at Bir and spend the afternoon at the cafes around, 35 minutes drive or visit the local Palampur Bazaar. Our advice would be to use taxi service arranged by us that we can vouch for. This would be our first experience with a volunteer.
