Description
We are a Dutch family with 3 children, 2 of whom are studying elsewhere. We moved to the heart of France 10 years ago to a plot of land of over 2 hectare.
Our dream was to make an ecological house. We created our dream house from an old barn, using only ecological building materials.
We have a large permaculture garden, various animals like a horse, donkey, chickens, rabbits , cat and dog and we do bee keeping.
We rent out an old water-mill on our property, which also serves as the accommodation for work away.Types of help and learning opportunities

We have a lot to offer in terms of how you can live (partly) of the land, move to a self-sufficient life style. As we are slowly moving towards our self-sufficient homestead we love to include you on our journey.
Help
There is plenty of things to do here, depending on the season. We usually love some help around the garden, looking after the animals (walking with the donkey), helping out if there is a building project and maintenance around the terrain like planting trees or hedges.
The help we need is in our private garden and private house, not for commercial help.Languages spoken

You will be staying in a fully equipped renovated watermill. It has 2 bedrooms, a kitchen / living room, bathroom, and toilet. There is an amazing balcony overlooking our property. The house is wood heated. In our high season this is our rental accommodation.
In the morning you can have your breakfast in the watermill (which we will provide). Vegetarian lunch and diner will be shared in our house. What else ...
We usually start with outside work between 9 and 10. And continue a bit in the afternoon. So you will have plenty of time left to explore the area or hang around the property.
One of us is working remote in the afternoon / evenings.
Public transport is scarce in the area. We can pick you up 20 minutes from our house where a bus comes a few times a day. If you want to go and explore the area you can do see by on of the many walking trails that pass by our house for going a bit further you would need your own transport.A little more information
