Calling all construction volunteers!
Are you someone that loves home improvement projects and wants to support our growing community, build our new kitchen and core team house?
Someone who has some experience in construction, kitchen remodeling, tiling, and plastering?
Then we have just the right project for you!
Between October 2nd-14th, we will be finalizing the interior portion of our new kitchen!
With the exterior built from clay by hand this last year, we are now seeking the support of carpenters or those with a construction background to see this amazing project to the end! But the biggest focus will be on renovating our team house. Plastering, tiling, plumbing will be needed.
As a building volunteer during these 2 weeks, you’ll have accommodations provided for you along with the opportunity to join in on our communal meals.

About us:
We aim to support the development of human potential by dance, arts, meditation, being in nature, sharings, classes and workshops. We try to integrate our learning about ourselves into our daily lives. We value a communal living, share meals, conversations, art, knowledge, and life.
Our space is used by groups and individuals for various retreats, classes and weekly events for example:
Dance (Contact Improvisation, contemporary dance, Gaga), ecstatic dance, somatic practices, sound healing, meditation, heart sharing, theatre improvisation, clowning, drumming, singing circles...
We are located in the Natural Park of Arrábida, surrounded by hills in a beautiful landscape. The tranquillity and energy brings a sense of peace that allows rest and regenerate.
Forest and mountain walks can start right from the house. Stunning beaches are a 15min drive away. Rock climbing possibilities near by.
The towns of Palmela and Setúbal are nearby, and from Lisbon it is possible to get here in 45 min by public transportation.
We aim to answer all the requests we are receiving, even it might take sometimes a few days, since we are a small team. We kindly ask you to write us only if you are truly interested and capable of coming.
Our communal kitchen is vegan/vegetarian and mostly gluten-free. Our vegetables and fruits come mostly from a close by farm which grows organic.
We are a drug-free zone, with some celebratory exceptions.
As a volunteer, you can use the dance studio whenever there is no event happening or core members are needing it. You can take part in all the events and classes happening here. Most of the times for a reduced price, depending what the organizers decide.

Besides learning how to handle tools, machines, we want to empower you to change things and not just accept if something is broken. (On a very practical level: you don't need to throw the toaster away just because the plug is broken ;-) )
And we dance, research about human development and try to connect on deeper levels.
Help
We are now especially looking for someone who can support us in researching ways of fundraising, and launching a shares selling campaign for our cooperative. Also need for a "handyman" with skills of building, repairing and maintaining our buildings.

We have two small dorms for volunteers.

We are located in the valley of Natural Park of Arrábida, surrounded by hills and beautiful woods. The tranquility and energy of the surroundings brings a sense of peace that allows rest and regeneration.

You can enjoy nature walks, visiting neighboring towns or Lisbon, beautiful beaches nearby, cultural activities.
Sometimes we enjoy doing things together. Dancing, meditation, forest walks, workshops, beach time, etc.

I arrived here to help build the new dance floor and by the time I left, I had taken part in multiple ecstatic dances, jams, classes, and other events, on the very wood I drilled together with my friends.
