    Description

    Hello traveler,

Talatou and I would like to welcome anyone wishing to share a life in the heart of nature and knowing how to respect it. Two years ago we decided together to establish ourselves on virgin land at the base, at the bottom of the village of Diannah in Casamance. From nothing, we have created a little paradise that it's time to share. We wanted to put our dreams into practice, that is to say, to live in a place in the simplest possible way, to take advantage of the elements (wood, for eating and heating, water from the well for showering, the earth for us feed...), live in constant contact with fauna and flora. Our motto: do not cut anything! only what you need to go from the house to the kitchen, from the shower to the toilet (no I'm kidding there is no toilet, not yet, be ready to defecate in nature) and cut to make a few gardens, all the rest is just wasteland, a refuge for animals. We meet snakes, birds, squirrels.

Talatou is an outstanding cook, the village children's favorite friend, always ready to laugh and chat. He is a most helpful man and it is important to him to welcome and share his culture with those of the whole world. I tease him by telling him that there is a better Wolof teacher, and he replies that I am not patient... finally, he will be happy to introduce you to the languages of Casamance because he speaks Fulani, Mandingo , Wolof, Manjack. It is he who will welcome you mainly because unfortunately I am not often there. We speak French, English both, and Spanish for me.

The main work on site is: trying to live together in the simplest and most respectful way for everyone and for nature. Then, we first created three gardens that need to be maintained, repaired, watered, planted. A good number of fruit trees also need to be watered, and maintained by mixing the earth from the holes with compost, observing them and talking to them. So watering is the biggest task because it is daily. What's more, every day, it's about eating, so going shopping in the village with the motorbike or a bicycle depending on availability, then cooking over a fire, sharing this task. Finally, all ideas for DIY, creation is welcome, we have ideas for tree houses, small tea corners, others for meditation, but for that you need to be several for ideas and arms!

    In summary, the activities are:
    - watering
    - gardening
    - running and cooking
    - DIY
Activities that will take you relatively the whole morning, but there is no strict schedule, we want above all to share the daily life, rather than a work force.

Regarding the accommodation, the house is almost finished (there is no indoor shower, no interior paint, no shelf cupboard, but the roof is straw and it is very cool), there are three mattresses for the moment, who have all the space in the hut, or we have two tents, very comfortable (including one where we spent our first 4 months in the field while waiting for the construction of the hut). The shower is in the open air or behind some palm leaves. As for the network, we have few, but we go to the village every day to connect.

For meals, they are all shared together according to your programs and your desires. Mainly local cuisine. Feel free to share your specialties with us.

We are aimed at travelers who are not afraid of spiders or snakes, and who feel like living on next to nothing. You will see it is Paradise!

    Bonjour voyageur,

On croise serpents, oiseaux, écureuils.

On cuisine local essentiellement.
