we recruits volunteers for locally-run community, conservation, teaching, health, building and sports projects around Uganda. Volunteers are an integral part of everything that happens . We couldn’t do it without them. There are many ways to volunteer your time, as well as your skills, to help out. Depending on the season, we always have a list of much needed services of volunteers within our projects around Uganda.
Volunteer on water Hygiene and Sanitation Projects:
The team engage into programs and projects which improve on the sanitation of rural people and this include clearing of drinking wells, building of dry racks and the digging of latrines as well as education of healthy living practices. Join the team and help in
improving the poor communities.
Material Support:
we provides material support to those in the Mubende District who are
unable to and care for themselves. This may include the elderly,
orphans, the disabled, prisoners, and those afflicted or affect by HIV and AIDS.
This support may include:
• CHBC kits, or phsicasocial support
Making mama Kits and Distributing it to the needy pregnant women
• Supplying sanitation sanitary kits to village school girls
• The delivery of food supplies from development programs to orphans
• Sporting events for orphans to improve the social aspect
• Providing school supplies to schools per term for orphans
• Elderly Support Programs including clothes washing, visitation, and the construction of sanitation areas including
we always welcoming and excited to host volunteers at our Mubende office. We have hosted volunteers of all ages from around the world, from individuals wanting to make a difference to groups from established organizations. A wide variety of opportunities are available for volunteers, depending on background, interest, and experience. Some possible volunteer activites include:
Providing various counseling services to community members;
Helping with the medical needs of the orphaned children, people infected with HIV/AIDS, etc.;
Assisting with fundraising, including the identification of potential donors or sponsors;
Teaching as a co-teacher in primary schools;
Becoming a friend to an orphaned child, which includes visiting the child in the home or at school, taking the child out on the weekends, as well as many other activities;
Aiding in administration work in our offices;
Training farmers in sustainable agricultural practices;
Preparing quarterly volunteer newsletters; and
Participating in construction work.
No special experience is needed - just enthusiasm and a love for community! Skills that could be valuable include teaching, counseling, nursing, construction, agricultural management, and many others.
