Come work as a server and live next to a castle! This is a boutique hotel and restaurant right next a Castle, a family home dating back to the 15th century. Though the hotel and castle are now separate properties, they are owned by members of the same family--one that has lived in the village of Garrevaques for 17 generations.
Workers will be paid an hourly wage and staying six months minimum will allow them to experience multiple seasons in this beautiful region. They can practice their French while adding to their resume and gaining valuable work experience.
This host offers accommodation and payment.
Our restaurant is looking for someone from Europe or with a European work visa to be its newest server. This is more than just a workaway position--we will take care of your accommodation and welcome you into French family life, but we are looking to hire a real employee for our restaurant. For this reason we need a worker who can stay for at least six months. This is a perfect opportunity for someone with some previous restaurant experience and at least a basic knowledge of French to fully immerse themselves in the culture and family lifestyle.
For those without restaurant experience who want to get started in the service industry, we are also looking for someone to help clean hotel rooms. Because the work requires less French, this position is open to those just starting to learn French as well as those who speak it confidently. There will be plenty of opportunity to improve French of all levels while living and working with native French speakers.
This would even be a good position for a couple that is interested in spending several months in France together!
There is a special accommodation for hotel workers right nearby with six bedrooms and a shared kitchen.
Garrevaques is a small village but well-location in the Haute-Garonne region of France. Just an hour to the west is the big city of Toulouse, while to the east is medieval town of Carcassonne. In the winter months the Pyrenees are nearby for skiing, and the Mediterranean is an easy day trip when it's warm enough to swim.
The bus system works well and the countryside is perfect for biking--especially in summer when the sprawling fields of sunflowers are in bloom--but someone with a car will be in the best position to profit from what the region has to offer. Garrevaques does not have its own town center but bakeries, shops, and an impressive weekly market can be found in Revel, just a few miles away.
