    Description

We are a family of three: Daviti (37 years old, Georgian), Ewa (32 years old, Polish/American) and Aleksandre (19 months old, Polish/Georgian/American). Ewa is a scientist and work-from-home mom while Daviti is an artist and stay-at-home dad. We both love the outdoors and enjoy hiking and exploring Washington on the weekends!

Currently, we are looking for someone who could help us with our daily life activities -- cooking, cleaning, engaging in arts projects and language practice with our toddler/us. Ideally, this would be a native Polish/Georgian/English native speaker (this is not a requirement) who has some experience being around toddlers. The reponsibilities of the workawayer would not include "lone care" of our toddler, but we would love for you to provide language practice, engage in arts activites, read and play with him while we are around.

Our entire family is fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and we would ideally like you to be vaccinated as well (mostly, for your own safety).

At the moment, we cannot host digital nomads, but may be able to in the near future. Please write to us if you are a digital nomad and are considering staying with us. We can potentially work something out.

Volunteers will be able to learn/practice the languages we speak, enjoy the city of Olympia, and the beautiful outdoors that Washington has to offer! On the weekends, we try to stay active and go on nearby excursions. This could include hiking, camping, skiing, or exploring the city. We would love for our Workaway volunteer to join us on these adventures! Nonetheless, we will not be offended if you plan something else.

    Help

As mentioned earlier, we are looking for help with our day-to-day family activities. This includes helping with grocery shopping , preparing food a couple times a week, helping keep the house clean and orderly, gardening, arts projects, and spending time outdoors with the family. We are also hoping to have some gardening projects for you this spring/summer!

Ewa and Daviti like to switch out cooking and it would be great if we all could switch out cooking during our volunteer's stay. Daviti cooks a lot of Georgian dishes while Ewa enjoys making vegetarian, Mexican, and Indian dishes.

Daily responsibilities for volunteers would also include providing language practice to the entire family, but mainly Aleksandre and Daviti.

The schedule would vary throughout the week and could include switching out working on the weekends for time off during the week.

During their time off volunteers can explore Olympia and the beautiful outdoors that Washington has to offer. There are plenty of hiking trails nearby and nice beaches. There are also several skiing resorts ~2-2.5 hours away. Seattle is 1-1.5 hour away and there are both buses and trains that go to Seattle from Olympia. We are located near downtown (a 15-minute walk) so it is fairly easy to get around by foot. Public transportation (buses) are free in Olympia. Olympic National Park is only 1-2 hours away depending on which side of the park you want to access. Mt. Rainier National Park is 1.5-2 hours away and Mt. Saint Helens ~ 2.5 hours away. Portland is 2 hours away. There are countless of opportunities to explore both the outdoors as well as surrounding cities.
