Description
We are a family of 3: mother (50 years old with two adult children (19 and 21 years old) and two cats. I work full-time during the week and would be happy if something could be done in the house/garden during this time. At the moment one of my children is in Australia. The other child is studying in Gießen and is currently planning to possibly move into a flat share. So it is currently becoming more and more empty in the house. I would be happy about some company and help.
Wir sind eine 3köpfige Familie: Mutter (50 Jahre mit zwei erwachsenen Kindern (19 und 21 Jahre) und zwei Katzen.
Ich arbeite in der Woche Vollzeit und würde mich freuen, wenn in dieser Zeit etwas im Haushalt/Garten gemacht werden könnte.
Im Moment ist eins meiner Kinder in Australien. Das andere Kind studiert in Gießen und plant gerade, evtl. in eine WG zu ziehen. Es wird also aktuell immer leerer im Haus. Ich würde mich ein wenig über Gesellschaft und Hilfe freuen.

Here you will find a lot of nature and peace. You can't do much culturally here, but the cities of Giessen and Wetzlar are easy to reach by bus. You can also find culture there. Our village life isn't that spectacular, but if you like reading and looking for peace or writing a thesis, this is the right place for you. You are welcome to expand your knowledge of German with us. We speak German and more or less good English. I would also be happy to improve my English skills. The (adult) children both speak very good English.
Hier findest du viel Natur und Ruhe. Du kannst hier kulturell eher wenig machen, aber die Städte Gießen und Wetzlar sind mit dem Bus gut zu erreichen. Dort findest du auch Kultur.
Unser Dorfleben ist eher nicht so spektakulär, aber wenn du gerne liest und die Ruhe suchst oder an einer Arbeit schreibst, ist dies der richtige Ort für dich.
Gerne kannst du mit uns deine Deutschkenntnisse erweitern. Wir sprechen Deutsch und mehr oder weniger gut Englisch. Ich würde mich auch freuen, meine Englischkenntnisse zu erweitern. Die (erwachsenen) Kinder sprechen beide sehr gut Englisch.
Help
We have the usual tasks that arise in a household with a garden. Occasionally it could happen that you are alone in the house and then take care of our two cats. You are welcome to do the cooking, we cook together or we cook for you. We will find a solution there. Most family members are vegetarian, for this reason we do not buy meat. But you are welcome to prepare your own meat. In winter there are usually only domestic tasks, in spring, summer and autumn helping in the garden is one of your activities. You should be able to operate a lawn mower and hedge trimmers, or at least feel capable of doing so. We can also show you. Light manual tasks are occasionally welcome. You will help a maximum of 2-3 hours a day.
Wir haben die üblichen Aufgaben, die in einem Haushalt mit Garten anfallen. Gelegentlich könnte es vorkommen, dass du alleine im Haus bist und dann unsere beiden Katzen versorgst.
Das Kochen kannst du gerne übernehmen, wir kochen zusammen oder du wirst bekocht. Da werden wir eine Lösung finden. Die meisten Familienmitglieder sind vegetarisch, aus diesem Grund kaufen wir kein Fleisch ein. Du kannst dir aber gerne selber Fleisch zubereiten.
Im Winter fallen in der Regel nur inhäusige Aufgaben an, im Frühjahr, Sommer und Herbst gehört die Mithilfe im Garten mit zu deinen Tätigkeiten. Du solltest einen Rasenmäher und auch eine Heckenschere bedienen können oder es dir zumindest zutrauen. Wir können es dir auch gerne zeigen.
Leichte handwerkliche Tätigkeiten fallen gelegentlich an.
Du wirst maximal 2-3 Stunden am Tag helfen müssen.

Accommodation
You live with us (3 people - including 2 adult children, but 1 of them is currently abroad) and two cats in a family house with a garden and an outdoor pool. You have your own room with a 1.40 meter wide bed, chests of drawers and a TV. Our two bathrooms (1 with shower, 1 with bath) are shared.
Du wohnst zusammen mit uns (3 Personen - davon 2 erwachsene Kinder, aber zur Zeit ist 1 davon im Ausland) und zwei Katzen in einem Einfamilienhaus mit Garten und einem Außenpool.
Du hast ein eigenes Zimmer mit einem 1,40 Meter breiten Bett, Kommoden und einem TV.
Unsere zwei Badezimmer (1 mit Dusche, 1 mit Badewanne) sind Gemeinschaftsbäder.
What else ...
You are welcome to use our scooter (50 ccm) and our e-bike. We live just a few minutes' walk from the Aartalsee. Here you can go jogging, cycling and even swimming in the lake in summer. Our village is connected to the bus service to Gießen and Wetzlar. The minimum stay is 1 week to a maximum of 3 weeks.
Du kannst unseren Roller (50 ccm) und unser E-Bike gerne mitbenutzen.
Wir wohnen nur wenige Gehminuten vom Aartalsee entfernt. Hier kannst du Joggen, Fahrrad fahren und im Sommer sogar im See baden.
Unser Dorf ist an den Busverkehr nach Gießen und Wetzlar angeschlossen.
Der Mindestaufenthalt beträgt 1 Woche bis maximal 3 Wochen.
