Description
Half a year ago we bought a beautiful property high above the problems of the world, on a plateu, surrounded by Mille Etangs (Thousands of lakes).
The land belonged to a gardner who poured her heart into the fabulous property. We are trying to honour her creation.
We've been renovating, getting rural and eating lots of croissants. We regularly visit our local market which features chilled concerts and quirky folks from all over the world.
Come and enjoy a piece of tranquility... and our sauna, slackline, hammock, tree house and fire pit.
When visiting your are most likely to meet Julz, who is a Australian theater performer who's been stranded in Europe for many years and Vroni, who pretends to be a forester.Types of help and learning opportunities

Our region offers a unique opportunity to dive into the rich blend of French and German culture shaped by centuries of shared history. When staying with us, you can immerse yourself in a landscape full of historical castles, traditional villages, and stunning natural beauty and you'll have the chance to discover regional traditions through local food, crafts, and customs (for example at local markets, village celebrations or one of the money community-oganized events).
Life here is shaped by both French and German influences, and you'll experience this bilingual atmosphere in daily life. It’s a great place to enjoy nature, take part in outdoor activities like hiking or skiing, and learn about sustainable ways of living in a rural mountain setting.
We come from Australia and Germany and look forward to sharing our cultures with you and learning from yours as well. We're still learning French ourselves – so we can learn together! We take pleasure enjoying great meals in a beautiful place and are interested in hearing your stories, opinions and about your adventures (we are especially intersted in learning new recipies and get to know new music). Vroni is an forest ecologist and climate impact specialist happy to share her experience about climate change resilience. Julz is also happy to share his practical skills and passion for hands-on projects, whether it's building, fixing, or creating something useful.
In the summer season there are a lot of village fests and events that you can visit.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
There are plenty of different tasks in the house and garden, depending on the season: help with weeding, wood choping, tree harvesting, planting garden beds, building a pizza oven. There’s also room and space for other projects – you're very welcome to bring your own ideas, skills, and creativity into what we’re doing. We’d love to hear what inspires you!
