    Description

Hi my is Jose and I am the owner of a Swim School in Ambato Ecuador, in South America. My wife and I run the swim school.
I am looking for energetic volunteers that love working with kids, helping to teach swim lessons. Volunteers must be Lifeguard certified, Water Safety Instructor certified, and if they are Infant Swimming Resource certified even better. That would be huge for our swim program. If bilingual in English/Spanish great, but not a must as all of our swim lessons are in English, if handy with computer skills and operating social media, that would be a big help. If you wish to be a volunteer for South Bay Swim School teaching Water Skills for Life I ask that you please commit to teaching for the entire swim season. NO SMOKERS PLEASE.
At our Swim School we start our swim lessons as young as 2 months of age. We offer swim lessons to children and adults as well. In our swim program our lessons are without the use of floaties, kick boards, or noodles, as these tools create a false sense of security, and dependency.
We offer an American swim program that offer baby and me swim lessons. Five years ago swim lessons were not offered to children under the age of 7, because they were considered to young. Today there are several places offer baby and me swim lessons, but no one is certified or qualified to do so, and there is no municipal office the regulates this, but we are working on this problem.
I have never hosted volunteers and I want to make sure that we do things right to create a win, win scenario for volunteers, children, parents, and us as well. We want everyone to walk away with an awesome experience, where we find that volunteers refer us to other travelers that are volunteers. This is the purpose of why I am contacting you. I would appreciate your assistance on venturing on this project that is new for me. Thank you for your prompt response. I am looking forward to host our first volunteers.

Volunteers would contribute there time, Mon-Fri, for 4-5 hrs a day in exchange for free room and board, the opportunity of learning or practicing a new language (Spanish), and on the weekends we can go sight seeing. ECUADOR has a vast range diversity of natural BEAUTY to offer. You can take a drive on a clear day and enjoy an amazing mountain view or you can visit the center of the world, or you can enjoy 9 miles of coastal line with awesome surf spots. Here are some of the places we can visit.
Situated between Colombia and Peru, Ecuador might be the smallest Andean country, BUT there’s A LOT to be enjoyed in this country! From impressive biodiversity; rich history and legacy; magnificent architecture; highland markets that are always teeming with activity; to a cocktail of cultures, Ecuador has it all.

What Does Ecuador Have To Offer?

Ecuador is a beautiful country that has a wide range of diversity to offer in natural beauty.
And if you’re planning to visit this friendly and exotic destination, be sure to give the following places a visit. You’ll be happy you did!

    Otavalo Market
Are you looking for a souvenir to take home? Then grabbing one of the impressive handiworks masterfully crafted by local artisans is in order. And when it comes purchasing local arts, clothing, and crafts, the small town of Otavalo is the best place to shop!
The handiwork of its aboriginal people – the Otavalos, is well-known in the world. And boy they are proud of it! Matter of fact, in Otavalo’s Plaza De Bonchos, you’ll find a wide selection of jewelry, stone and wooden carvings, woven clothing, and MORE for sale!

    Montañita
Ecuador, especially its southern coastal region, is home to lovely shorelines and impressive beach resorts – and Montañita is one of the most popular examples. It used to be known as a sleep fishing village. But when the international surfing community was awed by the town’s fantastic surfing conditions, it attracted visitors in GREAT numbers!
With its bustling nightlife; pumping nightclubs; plus bars and cafes that serve relaxation on a platter, there’s no shortage of entertainmentkeep locals and foreigners happy as clam.

    Baños
Do you fancy a relaxing session at a natural hot spring? If you do, the small city of Baños is the place to be. Lying at the foot of Tunguahua (an ACTIVE volcano), the thermal waters of the volcano gave birth to many hot springs in the city.
Aptly called the “Gateway to the Amazon,” innumerable jungle adventures and tours have started in Baños. Waterfalls that cascade thousands of feet (like the Pailon De Diablo waterfall); deep rivers gorges; and lush forests entice sightseers and adventurers from all parts of the globe.

    Tena
For visitors that can’t get enough of whitewater rafting and kayaking, Tena is the perfect spot! Its Tena River is a part of the Amazon’s tributary – joining with the Masahualli River and then with Napo River. Capital of the Napo Province, many journeys through the jungle have begun in this friendly and attractive city situated in the Amazon rainforest.
Founded by missionaries, Tena boasts a booming cinnamon industry, which helps the city survive and earned it the title “Cinnamon Capital of Ecuador.”
So I hope your ready to have an amazing time with us here in Ecuador because that is exactly what I aiming to offer you this January 2018.

I enjoy being a part of the community where we get to make a difference in peoples lives. We love making children water safe, and teaching them how to swim, and on the weekends we love to go and have an awesome time.
