Description
We are a non-profit association dedicated to the creation and promotion of historical role-playing games, primarily focused on their educational dimension. Our meeting place, production center, and knowledge exchange hub is located in a rural area in inland Catalonia.
We are located in the Catalan Pre-Coastal Range, south of Montserrat, in a region with a long winemaking tradition.
At Son Barraqueta, several people connected to the association meet, and during your stay, we will be available to provide accommodation, meals, and information about the surrounding area (its history, ethnology, and ecosystems).

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Always open to good debate and intercultural exchange. Besides being in a wine-producing region, we are very close to a Neanderthal site (Abric Romaní) and several medieval monuments. Within a slightly wider radius, we know of several Iberian settlements (pre-Roman aboriginal cultures). Barcelona is not far away (1 hour by car; 90 minutes by bus). In addition to pointing out all these places and providing a lot of information about them, we can also organize some guided tours...
Our cultural interests revolve around oral story telling, history, anthropology, archaoelogy, ethnobotany, pedagogy, themed board games, role-playing games, language exchange, community life...
Help
We offer volunteer opportunities centered around two main areas:
- boardgames or roleplay test and check, history share knowledge and discuss, storytelling...
- maintenance and improvements on the property (helping with: the vegetable garden, forestry interactions and some light maintenance tasks)

Accommodation
Accommodation would be in the house: either in the attic with mattresses on the floor, or in an interior room with a bed. This will depend on your needs and how busy we are at the time. Camping is also an option, but you'll need to bring your own tent, sleeping mats, sleeping bag, etc. (it gets cold in winter). Three meals a day are provided. If anyone would like to cook, we can do tasks around your schedule and make it part of the cultural exchange. The house menu is mostly vegetarian, but we can adapt it to vegan. Fish is sometimes cooked, and if you want to cook meat, you'll need to ask permission and discuss it beforehand.

What else ...
If you are coming without a vehicle, you should know that there are 2 buses daily on weekdays and 1 on holidays and weekends: to leave you have to walk 40 minutes, and for the return we have a stop 5 minutes away.
We celebrate diversity and do not accept sexist, supremacist, etc. behavior.
