  Hey, I'm Dingo. I came to Japan out of my longing for good food, great people, and effective public transit. I've been all over the country seeking out cultural experiences, natural grandeur, and very cute buildings from the 80's that look neat.
  
  Madarao, on the border of Nagano and Niigata, is full of fantastic people that are always helping each other out. In the winter, it regularly throws down 12m+ of snow on a mountain with great run variety - glades, bowls, and backcountry.
  
  This opportunity is definitely for skiers / snowboarders with solid experience in cooking and hospitality. You have every day access to a world class powder mountain, so I'm guessing you're probably into that.

  I've been living in Japan since 2020 and have traveled in almost every prefecture, as well as worked in a professional capacity as a customized tour guide. I'm an open book with regard to any of my experiences in the US, Japan, or elsewhere, and I'm hoping to hear about winter in the southern hemisphere. Of course, you will absorb the Shōwa experience through my collection of over 300 laserdiscs on rotation in the shop.

  Help

  I'm looking for two cooks / chefs and ~4 front staff to help run the restaurant during high season. We're only open for dinner hours, so you can hit the freshies every single day.
  
  Chef responsibilities include working closely with me to develop menu and preparation processes, necessary daily food preparation, and cooking during dinner hours.
  Salary from ¥1500/h+
  
  General staff responsibilities include cleaning and station preparation, morning cafe service, general service / dishes and register management, and grocery runs.
  Salary from ¥1000/h+
  
  All staff get

  Rooms on-site with new furniture, warm western-style twin beds, heaters, kitchen, shower, laundry, wi-fi, gear storage, cappuccino machine, and a relaxation space. Some staff may have to double up in a room, but they are pretty spacious. Breakfast provided at minimum, but more is possible depending on common ground of everyone's tastes. We will work together to develop the best situation for everyone.
