Description
We are a family of 4. We have a boy 9 yo and a girl 8 yo and we live in a village in the center of Romania. We all like to travel, meet new people and have new experiences. Lau and Andra, the kids, enjoy playing outside, reading, biking and hiking. We all love animals and country life.
For the last 5 years I,ve build my own house and so I learned a lot about how to work with wood, tools, bricks, clay, lime, electricity and so on. Also I've been working on our old apple orchard farm and our own garden, taking care of our chickens, dogs, helping neighbors with herding animals
But usually I work with small companies, social businesses and NGO's as management consultant or community projects.
I traveled in South America, Asia, Europe and Africa and I always looked for ways to volunteer or better connect with the local people this is why I joined Workaway. I want to understand the local place and the people that leave on it and working alongside them I think is the best way.Types of help and learning opportunities

Vurpar is in the Saxon area of Transylvania, an area full of fortified churches. The Sibiu city, European capital in 2007 it's only 30 min away by bus or car. Vurpar is also part of Hartibaciu nature protected area and it's surrounded by hills and forests where we go foraging for mushrooms or wild flowers.
The neighbors are very friendly and are eager to share stories of the area with you.
You can learn about how the nature can keep it's biggest worldwide plant diversity while people are doing agricultural activities.
You can come with us in the forests and in the hills to experience this directly. By interacting with us you can learn how to build with local natural materials, ecological agriculture, our language and about community development.Help
You can help us in the garden, feeding the chickens and dogs, help me with some basic carpentry or DIY projects, teaching our kids English, math, about nature, help facilitate workshops for the kids in the village and help around the house and even cooking meals. Whatever is the ability you can bring.
