Description
Hi everyone I’m Gaia! An Italian girl now running a B&B with a Scotsman (Col) at the foothills of the Dolomites. After years of traveling, we decided to settle down and start our own little project. Last spring we decided to move to my family home in the mountains and renovate the second floor, on which we started the B&B. We're open from the end of May to the beginning of September for guests but are happy to host even outside this time frame if we're at home. We are currently running a lodge in Japan and teaching skiing and snowboarding. We will come back to Italy in April and hope to find someone to help us throughout the summer season.
When we are not in the B&B during the summer we are kitesurfing, hiking or mountain biking. We would love to get into rock climbing. Come and teach us!
We’re busy bees, handy people and outdoors lovers who are motivated and switched on.
There's the opportunity, tools and equipment to make art, sports and all kinds of crafts. We have a large workshop downstairs and an empty floor upstairs for projects of all sorts. Would be amazing to host people who could help us kick-start the renovation of the third floor.
We welcome like minded people who are creative and want to play. Looking for doers not dreamers!Types of help and learning opportunities

We love to share meals and if you're keen there will surely be a chance to introduce you to a classic Italian-style family meal!

Help
We're looking for people in two areas: B&B and renovation of the third floor/gardening. Ideally a couple or two friends.
One who can help with serving breakfast, check-ins and room cleaning. The other one could start renovating the third floor. This season we're looking to put in basic plumbing and electrical services. Carpenters, plumbers and electricians are really welcome!
We also have a vegetable garden and a few chickens so you'll have plenty of fresh veggies and are very welcome to help with gardening as well if you'd like.
We ask you approx 4-5 hours of work per day, which comes down to about 2 when there's no rooms changeover.
In exchange for your work, we offer free accommodation, fresh produce from the garden and a monetary payment (calculated by the hour). As a consequence, in order to work with us you need to have a visa or work permit and insurance.Languages

Gaia is keen to improve her Spanish. Grandad is always keen to practice his French and tell you all about the 40 years he spent working in Africa. Col is desperate to improve his Scottish Italian. The whole family prefers speaking the local dialect rather than Italian so you'll definitely pick up a few words of that too!Accommodation
Private room with shared bathroom.
If you have your own van/caravan we have plenty of space for it in the garden.
We provide breakfast, fresh veggies from the garden and a space to cook your own meals. What else ...
On days off we can organize to do some activities together or give you tips for great spots to explore. We live in a small village but if you like the outdoors you won't be easily bored as it's a huge playground. Hiking, rock climbing, via ferratas, swimming, sup, kayaking, kitesurfing, you name it! And if you want a city break, Venice is only a couple hours away by train (1 h by car).
When Col is around you will also be able to learn about beekeeping and if you're into pottery or would like to learn, I'd be happy to introduce you to it. We make homemade pickles, jam, sourdough and kombucha so you can learn all of this too if you're interested. We are both kitesurf instructors and go to a local lake to ride. If it's windy when you're here we can give you a kitesurfing lesson.A little more information
