We run a whalewatching business in Tiverton, Long Island Digby County.
NOTE, the work is helping with business (getting ready and putting away) and yard work and help with rental cottages and renovations and maintenance.
Whale-watching is part of the benefits, not work hours (of course). Photos attached were taken BY volunteers, or of volunteers.

Help around the house
We have been part of another work stay program for 10-15 years. It started out as just offering travellers a chance to work for their whalewatching trips and accommodations. Then a friend was involved in a formal program and referred us.
WE have a staff house for (paid) staff and volunteers. Almost always own room.
"staff" prepare own meals (together) when possible with groceries we provide. Simple food, basic portions but adequate for most.
we usually look for 2 week minimum, mid june to mid-late September. starts to get cool in staff house in mid sept. no central heat - often have people stay on into October
**** note - it is not easy to get to Tiverton, unless you hitchhike, it involves buses or shuttles.
