Our self-sufficiency small-holding in the heart of France. The life and adventures of a family of seven living the dream in sunny Limousin. Focused mainly on gardening and outdoor pursuits. Camping space is available for short-term helpers.
Cooking / shopping
Ideal for anybody wanting to spend a short term in central France to touch up on the labguage and experience the rural french culture. We, as a family have been here since 2002 and interactive with the local community to experience the french way of life. Others could do likewise by visiting the local markets and fêtes while staying in the area. We also encourage our visitors to speak french during their stay.
Spring is in the air here at Oakleaves. (our pet name for the smallholding)
This year we will be putting in hedges around the perimeter and setting out some small individual camping plots for helpers so they can have a little bit of privacy during their stay with us.
If you would like to be one of the aforementioned visitors maybe you could help us set it up?
There will be gardening duties very soon as everything is going very green already and a few other jobs around the place for those with not so green-fingers.
So please do get in touch if you are interested in a break from the norm in sunny Limousin - the heart of France!
Camping self-catering. We have a limited supply of tents and bedding and can easily set up a camping barn / dormitory with up to four beds. This would be dry and have electric points for charging devices (no wifi however 4g data is good here)
We aim to grow as much of our own food as possible in the garden for the use of ourselves and our visitors. As far as buying in food goes we are on a limited budget and do not eat meat so we get by on the basics such as buying flour from the local mill. Visitors wanting extravagant meals would be expected to chip in.
Plenty of nearby lakes to swim in during the summer months.
Limited internet access
We have pets
