    Description

Currently there are 2 of us living in the house (1 australian and a french), but we had up to 8! (although that was a bit crazy so we won't go back there)

We work a lot in the field so people come and go for days and weeks, and so sometimes we'd like to leave you in charge of the household - especially our very special, precious, clever and intense detection dogs. Our dogs are high performers and require lots of care, stimulation, love and attention. We have very specific rules you will need to obey by with our dogs - but if you can't (if you are not good with dogs), then there is plenty of work to be done for the house, or around the garden etc.

We are happy for you to focus on anything you like doing most (caring for animals, house maintaining work, gardening) - and chip in at other things. Especially after so much rain - we might have cleaning and painting jobs...

We would like our house to be welcoming for travellers from around the world that share our values of compassion, tolerance, love and respect for Nature and wildlife, social justice, and respect for others too. We are inclusive and open to all walk of lives, gender orientation, culture, and diet.

We love our house and will need you to treat it with care.

We are no smokers but if really you have too, you can smoke in the garden as long as you don't make a mess.

We work in conservation and our dogs are especially trained to do sniffing jobs with us for research and conservation projects. You can gain a behind the scene look at a small not-for-profit conservation organisation and can become a volunteer with us (in addition to helping us with the running of the house), if you feel inclined that way. We often give conservation talks you can attend.

The place we live in is beautiful (although you do need a car to explore all the nature around us - from beaches to national parks).

    Help

We have a one hectare property in the Sunshine Coast (Australia), with 3 dogs and cat. The house is an old wooden Queenslander with lots of character but high maintenance - between our busy jobs, lots of animals and the house, we find ourselves overworked to do everything well. We need a hand!

Jobs we'd love a hand for are: caring / exercising dogs, gardening (mowing, weeding, planting, fixing the pond etc to make property even more wildlife friendly), normal house chores, cleaning & painting the house, and any extra project you'd be excited to do & discuss with us (building chicken run, a patio, veggie garden, whatever...)

We don't want to overwork you but we seriously need someone to chip in!

    Accommodation

Private room downstairs, with access to breakfast things / fridge, living room with TV, and a shared bathroom if other occupants are present, while upstairs is where main living room and kitchen area are. Meals can be shared or independent as preferred. I am vegetarian but meat eater are accepted as long as they never let the meat go to waste! ;-P

There are 4 bedrooms in total.

Large garden that we are trying to rehabilitate with native plants. Fire pit. We would love a vegetable garden but suck at it, maybe that's something you could do?

    What else ...

We are close to beaches where surfing is popular, and many lovely bushland, dam (with canoeing opportunities) and parks are around. You will need a car if you want to make the most of what the Sunshine Coast has to offer. We are poorly served by buses, although some of our guests have made it work between bike and buses. Otherwise, if you just want to rest, care for animals and do some gardening you won't need to go anywhere!
