We are a registered kindergarten with over 30 Amazing children in Kumasi, the garden city of Ghana, West Africa. The school is located in the Manhyia constituency in Kumasi where we have the Manhyia Palace. The palace is the seat of the Asantehene, the king of Ashanti Kingdom. We aim to provide quality and inclusive childhood development services to the children in the community through play, dance and singing. Many of our children come from difficult backgrounds and therefore require a lot of care, attention, encouragement and most importantly companionship. The experience of helping vulnerable children, while it can be emotionally difficult, is a positive and a life changing one. Volunteers supply critical support to the teachers at the preschool, who are greatly under resourced. The children greatly benefit from the support and attention that they receive from volunteers who are appreciated by the local teachers and the children. Volunteers will help on a multitude of tasks within the preschool, helping to run daily activities and supply the care and education these children deserve.

As a preschool volunteer you will assist our local teachers in welcoming kids to the center in the morning and providing teaching sessions. Help them with their homework, play games, sing songs, indulge in arts and drama and social education. You will teach basics such as phonics, days of the week, shapes, beginners English, French or even your native language and games to keep them entertained. You will also assist in either cooking or serving food to the kids and making sure they have had enough food. In exchange volunteers will receive free accommodation including meals 3 times per day. We will welcome any new ideas from volunteers. You can choose to stay for weeks or months.
We offer free and comfortable accommodation in a shared room, with water and electricity, with tasty food 3 times a day in the school apartment. There is a separate kitchen for those who would love to prepare their native food.
