Update(May 2026): thank you all for your lovely messages :) we have made plans up until October and uncertain at this stage on what we are planning on doing afterwards. Thank you Sarah & Matthew :)

Hi there,

We are Sarah-Louise & Matthew :) we are from New Zealand, in our early 30s and have come to Canada to explore its beautiful nature, landscapes and wildlife. We are passionate about hiking, and I would say we feel very at home in a tent.

Our hobbies include hiking, running, swimming & exploring new places. Sarah is passionate about aurora chasing and likes taking pictures. We are by no means adrenaline junkies, but we do like to push ourselves out of our comfort zone and therefore always like to try something new.

We love & care for this planet & all it has to offer, and we are always looking for new ways to keep it clean & keep it green!

This is our first year doing work-away so we hope that we have created a nice profile haha! Looking forward to connecting and meeting new people!

About Matthew:

I am a qualified carpenter, with about 8 years of experience, back home I was a foreman at a small residential construction company where we built houses from foundation up to completion so any building jobs you may have whether it be a small wood shed or a deck all the way up to a mansion I'm sure i could make myself fairly useful.

or though carpentry is my trade and what I really know I'm not too bad at spinning spanners so any small car related issues I could help out with. I'm pretty confident with a chainsaw log splitter and most yard equipment.

About Sarah-Louise:
I started working as a florist since I left school, I have over 13 years' experience in the industry, I have a creative eye for detail and worked on many weddings and all sorts of different events & occasions in the past. I also have experience working as a housekeeper, administration roles & also have experience working as an assistant technician in a geo-science laboratory. I am always keen to take on new challenge & learn new skills.
