Beschreibung

We are a young German couple that graduated from a Danish High School summer 2025. As we both want to see the world and have a break from studying, we decided to do a work and travel year in Canada.
We find joy in curiosity, nature, and good company. Mey is very interested in biology. She is always motivated to learn something new, whether it’s a skill, a fact, or a new perspective from someone I’ve just met. Björn likewise is eager to learn, and is always ready to be a help in any situation. We both love hiking, being outside. Nothing beats spending time with animals.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We both have experience in customer service and retail, making us reliable, communicative, and comfortable working with people.
We have also gained volunteering experience here in Canada as environmental restoration & marine field operations assistants at Canadian Pacifico Seaweeds. Where we participated in environmental clean-up and restoration activities and supported infrastructure repair and rebuild tasks.
After that, we volunteered at the Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge, where Mey worked with the horses. Everything from feeding, cleaning, riding and some training. She did some housekeeping as well, while Björn picked up maintenance skills (they had to rebuild the fence line and remove salmon berries etc.) He as well helped with the horses some days.
Our last job was at the Epona Rise Retreat Center where we took care of their horses, ducks and chickens as well. They have a lot of retired horses, so it was feeding, a little bit of cleaning and checking their health/giving some medicine.
After that, we helped a family with their spring clean around the house and sitting their 8 year old.
Right now, we are helping out in the garden: Mey is doing weeding and planting, while Björn is doing landscaping.
We are adaptable, motivated to learn, and happy to help wherever needed!

Was noch ...

One of our favourite things in life is connecting with people: we love to play board games (especially Yatzee and Catan). Meeting people and hearing about their life stories and adventures inspires us. Last but not least we just love animals.
Mey has a strong interest in marine biology and biology in general as she is going to study veterinary medicine back home after the work and travel year. Björn is open-minded and motivated to learn, using hands-on experience to discover the direction that suits him best.
