Beschreibung

Hi, I'm Ella, an 18-year-old girl from Germany! In the summer of 2024, I finished high school and am currently in the middle of enjoying a gap year before starting university in october. At the moment I am working at a small café in my hometown which is right outside of Munich. I've always been certain that after graduation I wanted to leave Munich behind for a bit and see new parts of the world. I am very excited to meet new people, discover new places and cultures that differ from mine!
I'm a very open-minded person who loves to try new things and help others. Moreover, I am known for always being friendly and thinking that you should constantly choose kindness over pettiness.
My interests are all over the place, roaming from sewing and handicrafts to hiking and exploring new activities, as well as baking/cooking and especially reading. Through my books I've grown quite accustomed to the english language due to me only buying english books for the past few years.
Whenever I think about what I wanted to do during my gap year it's always been clear to me that I wanted to stay with a host family instead of looking for some camp or work-like arrangement. I've always been a huge family centered person and want to have that feeling of safety while travelling the world and fulfilling my dream of seeing the world, therefore I was beyond happy finding WORKAWAY and its concept which fits exactly into my vision :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Recently I earned my high school diploma which taught me a lot about many various subjects and improved my english skills tremendously. My native language is German and I'm open to teach while staying with you.
I would consider myself a person of many interests and abilities. Not only do I love to be active while dancing, hiking or even doing a longer hiking tour for a few weeks, I'm also a very creative and social girl. Some of my passions are reading, sewing and baking/cooking while always keeping an eye on my friends and social contacts by meeting up with friends and family on a regular basis.
Currently I am working as a barista in a little coffee shop which is very accustomed to little kids. Moreover, I am often helping out my dance teacher with her lessons by teaching some of the younger dancers. Therefore, I am surrounded by children almost every day and I appreciate that a lot and find it very rewarding! My job is also teaching me a lot regarding customer service and interacting with all sorts of people, as well as giving me time for trying new recipes for cooking and baking.
I'm a very quick learner and have improved my wisdom on working with children and animals over the past few years. For example I do not only pet-sit regularly but also own a cat myself. Furthermore, I spent a few weeks absolving an internship at an elementary school and learnt how to teach and communicate with kids and even starting tutoring afterwards.
