Beschreibung

Hi everyone!
My name is Elina, I’m 23 years old and have been staying in Indonesia since september 2024 (my 3rd time in Indonesia, and hopefully this one will be for longer!). As I mainly live and spend time with locals when I'm here, I am now almost fluent in bahasa Indonesia.
I'm passionate about marine conservation and have a lot of experience in coral restauration, marine invertebrates, turtle identification... I did my Dive Master last year and have been diving a lot in Indonesia since then.
I love travelling off the beaten paths, exploring things and meeting new people. I’m very optimistic and smile all-day long.
I’m autonomous and very organized; I travel a lot alone since the age of 17, mainly in S-E Asia.
I am from Brittany, in France, so I grew up by the ocean and wouldn't be able to live without it!
I've been vegetarian for several years already, and try to go vegan as much as I can.
Nature is very important for me, I have quite a sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

My parents raised me in a way that I can experience things and try by myself in order to see what I like and what I don’t like, in respect to others and the environment. They taught me many things in the house, in the garden, to travel…
I studied chemistry and biology for 2 years (in English), so I’m quite into science, even if I stopped this year.
In my free time I enjoy hiking, doing yoga, pilates and swimming (I live near the sea).
I travel a lot; I’ve already been 2 times in Laos, I went to Canada for an exchange in high school, USA, French Guiana, Guadeloupe and several European countries.
During summer 2019 I went alone in Thailand and Cambodia to do a study on Sak Yants (traditional Khmer tattoos), there I learned a lot about myself, the way I enjoy travelling and met many people from around the world.
Last september/beginning of october, I travelled around France in my van, so I learned to adapt myself to different environments, and I'm not picky about the comfort in which I sleep or live!
I speak (almost) fluently English and a bit of Spanish. I could try learning French, but I’m not a very good instructor (I already tried English and it was not highly successful, maybe because it is not my native language).
I’m currently building a small van with some help from my father, and I like doing DIY (building pieces of furniture, painting, sanding…). I also did a few gardening in my former garden.
I love to cook, especially vegan meals (I’m vegetarian and tend towards veganism).
As you may see, I really enjoy doing different things, and I am so looking forward to learn again with these Workaway experiences!
