Hello! :) My name is Sharla and I am 27 years old. I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and will graduate from PA school in August! I will start an emergency medicine fellowship in January of 2026 so I have about four months to fill with adventures! I love to travel, meet new people, experience other cultures, and learn as much as I can along the way. I love animals, hanging out with my friends, spike ball, sand volleyball, hiking, skiing, and skydiving!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I grew up on a large farm in Wisconsin where we raise beef cows, horses, pigs, sheep, ducks, pheasants, and chickens. I grew up with three older sisters and a minimum of two dogs at all times. I grew up training animals and doing all kinds of tractor work on the farm. I'm thankful for my upbringing on the farm because it has made me a very good worker. After moving away from the farm for college, I obtained many different jobs over the years. I was a Wisconsin 4-H International Program Assistant for two years where I recruited host families, interviewed them, and facilitated orientations for the participants. I also worked as an assistant trainer at a kickboxing studio and as a dietetic associate at St. Mary's hospital in Madison. I am currently a CNA at a memory care unit in Madison, Wisconsin.

Was noch ...

I am applying to physician assistant programs and hope to attend PA school starting in May of 2023. I want to spend my gap year gaining clinical experiences, shadowing PAs, but also taking this time to experience life very different from my own. I hope to find affordable ways to make my travel goals come to life!
