Hi, nice to meet you! :)

I'm Sara, a 25-year-old proactive, hard-working and experienced workawayer from Budapest, Hungary.

**PREVIOUS WORKAWAY EXPERIENCES**

So far I have volunteered three times as part of a workaway. I experienced my first workaway in Greece on a little island, called Aegina in 2018. I stayed in a small hotel where (with another workawayer) where we were doing the cleaning, we prepared sometimes breakfast for the guests and we did the check-in and out as well.

Then came the pandemic so I decided to volunteer in Hungary. In the summertime, I spent more than 2 weeks at a permaculture and organic farm located in a small village near Balaton North National Park. I was helping with many projects and daily jobs. We worked in the garden (harvesting, seeding, weeding, cutting hedges, building a raised bed, bringing home goat manure with a trailer, etc.). On other days I was involved in building (stone layering and building a garden terrace, working with wood and using a belt sander machine, painting wood etc.). Besides that, I spent a lot of time with my Host's child and I really enjoyed it. I helped with cooking, and preserving garden produce and fruits. I learnt a lot about this experience, which was sometimes challenging but always enjoyable.

In the summer of 2022, I volunteered for 2,5 weeks in Puglia, on a farm of a family of 4. I worked mainly in the garden and I also helped during the honey harvest period. I also gave a hand around the house and the children (11 & 9).

**PERSONALITY, SKILLS**

I consider myself an easy-going, friendly, hard-working and a little bit shy person, but I can quickly adapt to new situations. I'm really active, I like most kinds of sports, and outdoor activities, my passions are: running, swimming, playing tennis, skiing, via-ferrata, hiking, cycling, and scuba diving. Besides the sport, in my free time, I choose cultural programmes (theatre, museums, auctions, concerts, reading, ) and I'm impressed by the art. One of the first things I do in a new destination is to taste some speciality because I am a fan of gastronomy! :)

I speak English and Italian fluently. I have spent half a year in Italy (Florence) via Erasmus. I studied my coursed in Italian and my flatmates were Italian as well. In Florence, I had a chance to travel alone (or with others sometimes) and to discover new places, people, and flavours of Italian gastronomy. I really enjoyed being involved in an international community and it was a good occasion to discover myself and the beauty of travelling.

**PRESENT**
I am currently working as an "Environmental compliance analyst" in the sustainability department of a multinational company. It belongs to the field of environmental economics so through my job I am able to contribute to the development of sustainable methods. I have a master’s degree in "Regional and Environmental Economics so I'm interested in sustainable development, permaculture, craft and organic food, gastronomy, culture, and traditions of other countries.

This year I would like to volunteer and to help again and I'm open to tasks as well. Don't be afraid to contact me with any kind of work or duty! :) I am happy to arrange online calls with hosts or alternative communications previous to work.
