Hello,
What makes me, me, is just a love for life and really diving into it. I’m always interested in doing new things and learning in general. Whether this be the numerous activities I have a passion for such as surfing, climbing, reading or wood carving. Or for meeting new people and learning about them and their culture. Central to me is this passion for people, which can be shown by my work experience as a youth social worker, volunteering with disadvantaged peoples and a degree in psychology. I’m also incredibly social and love to spend time and connect with people. Thus, what motivates me is to have a workaway experience that can channel my passion for people into something that helps them.

Working with people e.g. the ability to connect and build positive relationships with them.
- I have a degree in psychology allowing for in some ways a good understanding of how people work
- I have lots of experience working with people (particularly with youth). I have a worked as a youth volunteer worker, as well as tutoring young students (12) in science. I have also worked as a tutor for my university teaching psychology to first year students. I have lots of volunteer experience working with disadvantaged youth and elderly with alzheimers.
Adaptable: I feel I am able to adapt and learn in new and sometimes confronting environments
- this comes from a; a love for new experiences (travelling) ,confidence in myself, having to deal with difficult situations in my experience working with troubled youth, and a love for learning.
Hardworking and reliable: I can be counted on to do the work given to me and to the best of my ability. This has always been a point of pride for me.
- this is something I have learnt playing sport, getting a degree with great results, by completing army basic training for the NZ army reserve force and also just having my parents strictly instill this into me.
