I am just back from Spain and now volunteering in Italy.

Beschreibung

Hey, my name is Lu. I graduated from school last year and I am looking for a way to go abroad to expand my cultural knowledge, improve my language skills, meet new people and overall have new experiences. I am new to solo travelling like this but I am looking forward to using this opportunity. I want to go on this adventure of getting to know more of myself and other people, so I am pretty open to any volunteering work. I grew up in the capital of Germany in Berlin and would like to travel to countries near Germany for my first volunteering experiences with Workaway. My preferred countries are France, Spain and Italy. Besides travelling, I am really into music, books, writing, politics and languages and I love being in nature and with animals. I also identify as queer and vegan and I am really passionate about both of it. I hope to make this opportunity work and be able to grow personally from this new experience :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

With my family I have done a lot of camping and I spent a lot of time in nature growing up so I am experienced with outdoor skills and used to minimalist living. I really love being in nature in general. I have helped in our garden and on a farm so I am not afraid of getting my hands dirty.
I have been vegetarian for eight years and vegan for over a year now so I know my around vegetarian but mostly vegan cooking and baking and I always enjoy discovering new recipes. I can also always help with other house chores like cleaning. Also I know how to take care of cats and love them a lot since I grew up with them and still have one in my family.
I would say that I am a creative mind and always open to come up with new ideas and share them. Mostly, I love music, I know how to play the guitar and the piano and I love to sing. I can also do a bit of art and crafting but would like to get into that more again.
I am also fast at picking up new languages. Besides my mother tongue German, I speak English fluently and can understand French pretty well although I want to get better at speaking it. Also, I have just started to learn Spanish and would like to learn Italian as well.
Otherwise I am pretty good at adapting to different tasks and definitely open to acquiring new practical skills.
Lastly, I would say that I am a very independent and open-minded person. I don't tolerate any kind of discrimination, fighting against injustices and being politically active is really important to me.
