Beschreibung

Seeking a new way of life, bringing hands-on skills and a passion for animals and nature in general.

We are Lies and Tim, a responsible and experienced couple from Belgium. In February we will start to travel to the south of Spain with our own car to find a more sustainable way of life, we might stop by if you're on the way down.

With backgrounds in project management, house renovation and running a coffee farm (with workaway volunteers) and a dog rescue center, we offer a unique blend of practical skills, organization and proble-solving. We are passionate about working with nature and animals (we have a wide range of experience with dogs, cats and horses) and can provide dedicated, independent help with everything from gardening to hands-on DIY projects.

We are seeking hosts who are passionate about their project and would like to help you with them. We are excited to contribute to your home and to learn from your unique way of life.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We bring a wide range of skills to the table. Lies has a natural affinity for animals, especially dogs and horses, and loves spending time outdoors with her hands in the dirt. She has a keen eye for design and volumes, proven by selling the house she renovated to an architecture firm.
Tim is a general handy man with basic DIY skills, like electrical, plumbing, light woodworking, building adobe houses and making compost (also toilets). He has a background in online advertising in Belgium (he knows his way around a computer and websites/social media), running a coffee farm (with Workaway volunteers) and a street dog rescue center in Nicaragua.
Lies has extensive experience in hands-on project and event management from her time as a civil servant, so we are very comfortable with any projects you want to tackle. We of course don't mind taking on some occasional communal household chores or cooking either.
We both love food and explore new ways to work with ingredients with a focus on fermentation, whether it's perfecting our sourdough recipe (Gustje, the sourdough starter, is traveling with us and put to work whenever we can) or try cheese making (Tim took a course on natural cheese making by David Asher).

We are also well-equipped to handle homesitting and are comfortable caring for all your beloved animals, with a special knack for dogs, cats and horses, just not spiders (Lies added).

Was noch ...

When we're not working, you'll often find us outdoors hiking or exploring. Lies is a big tea lover and Tim is a coffee enthusiast, so we always travel with our own gear. We also enjoy a good meal or a glass of wine, but we also appreciate a quiet moment to read.
Lies and Tim are fluent in Dutch and English. Tim also speaks Spanish, and we can both get by in French and German.
We are traveling with our own car (not 4x4).

We're looking forward to sharing our skills while learning as much as we can from you.
