I’m interested in language exchange, and I believe that learning about each other’s languages helps improve language skills and allows us to get to know each other.

Beschreibung

My name is Kuga Masuda, and I am a 22-year-old from Japan. I have played basketball for 12 years since elementary school, which taught me teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. From high school onward, I have focused seriously on studying architecture, and I have been studying it for about six and a half years.

One of my hobbies is watching sports. I truly enjoy seeing people work hard toward their goals, and I love supporting and cheering for others.

Currently, I am staying in Canada on a working holiday. I decided to take a break from university because I wanted to improve my English skills and challenge myself in a new environment. Improving my English is my main goal, but I am also hoping to grow as a person and experience new values and perspectives before entering society.

After spending several months here, I have realized how many kind and warm-hearted people there are in the world. At the same time, I strongly feel the desire to communicate more smoothly and deeply with them. However, at the moment, I am mainly working in a Japanese-speaking environment, and I am not yet living or working in a truly local setting, which was my original goal. I would really like to change this situation.

I studied English in Japan before coming here, but I arrived without being able to speak it confidently. In my life so far, I was able to get good test results if I studied seriously, but I often felt that it was only “test-oriented” learning. Living in an English-speaking environment has shown me the limits of studying only at a desk, and I am now facing challenges that cannot be overcome by textbooks alone. Still, I strongly want to overcome these challenges.

Through this experience, I have come to appreciate the value of language exchange. When people are interested in each other’s languages, they naturally try to understand one another, which leads not only to faster language improvement but also to deeper cultural understanding. While I am currently focused on learning English, I would also love to learn about many different languages and people in the future. Language is not everything, but I believe that learning a language helps us understand people more deeply.

Before coming on a working holiday, I imagined myself getting a regular job in Japan and living a stable life. However, this experience has made me want to live my one and only life in a more meaningful way. Living abroad has shown me how important human connections are, and I hope to make friends from all over the world.

I also love nature very much. Along with meeting people, I would be happy to experience and feel the natural beauty of different parts of the world.

I feel happiest when I know that I am helping someone or when I feel that I am gradually growing as a person. I would love to be useful to others, share simple daily life and meals, and build warm relationships based on kindness and mutual respect.

I believe that making an effort to understand and share each other’s languages helps improve language skills and allows us to get to know each other more deeply. Since I’m focusing on learning English right now, I’d be happy to meet people who are interested in Japanese and can speak English. At the same time, I’d also love to meet others who want to study English together and motivate each other, or even people who speak languages other than English. Through my working holiday experience, I’ve realized that human connections are the most important thing.

I have spent many years playing basketball in a disciplined and competitive environment. As a team captain, I learned how to take responsibility, support others, and act with consideration for the people around me. Through this experience, I developed patience, perseverance, and the importance of continuing to work hard even when results are not immediate.

Since entering high school, I have focused on studying architecture for over six years. Learning in a highly competitive environment taught me how to stay motivated, manage my time, and pay close attention to details. I am comfortable with tasks that require concentration, consistency, and careful effort, and I approach my work with sincerity and responsibility.

In daily life, I am good at cleaning and organizing, and I value keeping living spaces clean and comfortable for everyone. I naturally pay attention to small details and enjoy creating an environment where people can feel relaxed and at ease.

I also enjoy spending time with children. I like playing with them, listening to them, and supporting their growth. I try to be patient, kind, and respectful, and I value building warm relationships based on mutual care and understanding.

Overall, I am a reliable, hardworking, and open-minded person who enjoys helping others. I feel happiest when I can be useful and when I can see myself growing little by little through new experiences.

Honestly, I don’t have any outstanding skills, and my language ability is not perfect yet. However, I am confident in my ability to work hard, to stay committed, and to do my best for others. I truly enjoy helping people and putting effort into whatever I am involved in.

In terms of communication, there may be moments when it is challenging, and I might cause some inconvenience. Still, I am always willing to try my best by using gestures, keeping a positive attitude, and working with a smile.
