Beschreibung

I am a nature lover. Simple things make me happy: soaking in the sunshine, admiring a beautiful landscape, strolling over the beach, wandering through a forest, hiking all day long in the wilderness, listening to the birds, doing yoga on a meadow, long conversations and warm coffee.
I want to dedicate my life to supporting the fragile ecosphere of this planet. That is why I studied biology and then got a masters in marine biology and another in marine law&policy. But aside of the scientific part, I am really fascinated by the artistic and social aspects of ecology. Therefore, I like to paint, write, and other creative activities, and I enjoy getting my hands dirty with planting trees and generally working outside. Furthermore, I think that the most important part about protecting our environment is education, a broader one than the one taught at school: education should aim to create a relationship, an indissoluble bond between children and nature. In the past I often looked after children and did homework/study support with this aim in mind.
I was born and raised in Italy, but I also hold a German citizenship. I have lived a couple of years in Germany, then in New Zealand, then Netherlands, Sweden, and Paris, sometimes for work, sometimes for studies.
This year I have mainly been living sailing on a tiny 22 feet (6.9 m) sailing boat, collecting eDNA and other marine ecosystem data, in the eastern Mediterranean. I do not have an official sailing certificate but I have plenty of experience on boats and in the ocean.
