Ciao! I'm Elena, an Italian who has been living in Belgium for the past two years. After completing my bachelor's degree in Economics, I was sure that what I wanted and needed was to dive in head first into my career, so I packed my bags and moved to Brussels to start working for an environmental NGO, as I've always been passionate about sustainability.
After a while, I started to feel lost and stuck in this city lifestyle, so I recently decided to take a gap year. I felt the need to take a real break from 9-to-5 work, slow down, and have more meaningful experiences before continuing (or perhaps changing?) my path.
I've always wanted to learn Spanish, but for one reason or another I never managed to, so first I'll explore Andalucía starting in April and maybe extend my summer in Latin America starting in October.
What matters to me is discovering new places, meeting people, learning through practice, and being useful in a concrete way. I am very attached to nature and the outdoors, as I grew up in Tuscany, surrounded by hills and greenery. Some of my hobbies include cuddling animals (most often pets, but I love them all!), cooking vegetarian dishes for my loved ones, dancing, and learning about astrology and tarot. I sometimes practice yoga and I would like to have the opportunity to keep exploring this amazing discipline.
I am quite adaptive to different routines and lifestyles. I enjoy living in a community, having lived in shared apartments since I was 19. I enjoy both active days surrounded by people and quieter moments alone to recharge and reflect. I’m more than happy to take on physical tasks or lend a hand where energy and movement are involved.
I take commitment and responsibility seriously and would love to meet new people who share my interests!

- I'm comfortable with all types of housework, including cooking, cleaning, organizing, and helping maintain a tidy, welcoming space.
- I am good at planning and organising, whether it's weekly meals or longer-term projects.
- I’m happy to help with tutoring, especially for English language and primary school subjects, as I am patient and have experience in academic tutoring.
- I am also a good mediator who knows how collaborate with others and adapt to different environments.
- I am curious and eager to learn all the (many:)) things i haven' t done yet!
