Ex-motorcycle adventurer, new Van-lifer here!

I've been working worldwide for 10 years as ships's engineer in dredging and offshore when I decided I don't want to stay that long at sea anymore and start working onshore as an operator in a power plant. It was nice to learn new processes and get the job done with my collegues but find out that after a while it became routine and need some new inspiration! One thing in particulair I missed the most in these industrial environments was a more natural surrounding. Therefore I would like to find a place where you live or work with, or at least more close to nature! Going to work as a tree-worker by climbing trees in the near future.

I got rid of my stuff and jumped on my motorcycle and travelled through europe and ended up in Greece. I was planning to wait for the spring to continue to drive through Turkey etcetc. It was Athens where I got inspired to travel light, got rid of the bike with gear and took a flight to South-East asia. I loved travelling around for over 6 months but i was looking for something more forfilling then 'just' travel. Workaway gave me the feeling of being free and having a meaningful at the same time! Met beautiful people, shared knowledge, had fun and love to experience more of it! Travelling Europe at the moment now. I like to climb/boulder, swim, sport, ski, snowboard, freeride, mountainbike, chop wood and many things more.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

As a previous ships engineer you basically need to be able to operate and repair anything on board ships and therefore you have to have certain skills and a creative mind to get the ships safely to their destination. But I prefer other work like gardening, chainsawing/cutting wood or sanding/painting...

I quit my job i used to do because i want to do something else.

I have a broad interest with no specific expectations!
