They are both mature for their age and were very considerate about my space and towards everyone around them.
If you, future workaway-host whi is reading this, should have the pleasure of hosting this couple (I recommend you do) make it their first task to bake some cinnamon buns, you will not regret it!

My third workaway experience for which initially planned to come for a short visit to meet a friend there and I ended up staying for 6 weeks. Where do I even start! The house is a gem (and everything is so esthetically pleasing, an orgasm for the eyes), the environment is mythical (occasionally you can hear the wolves howling in the nearby
… read more sanctuary) and the garden is incredibly soothing and zen. Cleo & Chili are the Kahana emotional support cats and follow you in the garden, to chat, cuddle or offer mice to you. This place was a safe haven for me, where I felt like I was floating a bit in soft rippling water.
Tanya is very welcoming, super funny, open minded, wise (she gives great advice) and flexible! She didn't mind that I had flexible dates and didn't know when I would want to leave again. I worked in the garden, which I didn't know how much I actually loved, learned about pruning fruit trees, met Tanya's friends, learned a lot about cooking and its aesthetics, chicken love, singing for baby plants, how to use an oven to its full potential, drinking endless baby-chinos; I felt so incredibly at home here. Tanya's enthusiasm and her passion for her home and garden are super contagious.
Next to feeling at home, I felt like I could really relax at Kahana. There is a bath, we often did yoga together in front of the fireplace in the living room, I made drawings at the kitchen table (the kitchen was my favorite place in the house) and cried with laughter. And oh my god, the food!! Every day it was a celebration, a surprise, a treat. I have learned so much from Tanya, she is 1 of the most powerful and courageous women I have met. She is the ultimate source of learning by just doing and throwing yourself in the deep.
When our paths parted, we both felt a bit unrooted, like plants pulled out of their pots and having to ground somewhere else, still a bit dazed. But some of my roots are still at Kahana. She gave me strength and reassurance in a couple of stressful situations the farm was facing during her stay. She helped me loads in the garden, she is strong and hardworking and she gave my cats so much love! She also helped me with cleaning and organising. We had a routine of doing yoga&tea time together in the mornings and we co-created wonderful meals that will find their permanent place in the farms' cookbook!

Communication was always easy with Marie and Fabi while I was gone, they checked back with me whenever something wasn't clear and even though I wasn't there I could sense how respectful and thoughtful they were moving in my space and how motivated they were to get things done! Upon my arrival back home the pantry was stocked up with homemade jams and chutneys, the freezer was packed with homemade bread, the floor had been painted, the kitchen was sparkling, I had new furniture, the cats were happy a gazillion things had been repaired, improved and embellished. It was such a joy to return, be amazed at everything they had accomplished and to get to spend a couple of more days with Marie and Fabi. They are so friendly and talented and fun to be around and I enjoyed exchanging ideas with these two.

So we had great fun for example preparing the vegetable pats, doing some maintenance around the house, building a shelf and a shelter or restoring old furniture. Tanya is super fair regarding working times and is alway taking care that everybody feels as most comfortable as possible.
In our free time we enjoyed exploring the little villages and the farmers markets around, doing some trips to the coastline or were just relaxing in that beautiful garden spending some time with her 2 adorable cats and the chickens.
We were very happy to meet Tanya bevor we left la Kanada as she is such an easy going, fun and warm person. We had a lot of fun together, chatting and she showed us her amazing skills in the kitchen. If you ever have the chance to visit Tanya and her paradise we highly recommend to do so. You will love it!

Tanya showed us around the local towns taking us out for true Breton experiences and additionally recommended some great outings for us to explore on our own.
The accommodations in the gite were clean, cozy and well thought out for workawayers. We were also fortunate to have had great house mates (C&S!) who had the sweetest dog, Sequoia. Everyone got on really well together and, along with the great weather, we were able to make some good progress on the grounds and buildings and also learn a good bit about each other.
All in all, if you’re thinking about applying to help out here - do it. You’ll have a great time and be part of a positive change that will leave this already wonderful place just a little better than it was when you arrived.
I enjoyed having Karin and Eric stay at the farm immensly as they are so friendly and positive, great company and fun to be around. It is mindboggling what Eric and Karin were able to do in what was only a little over two weeks and I am so grateful for all the improvements and transformations they brought upon my place with their manifold skills.

It is easy to communicate with Toni as she naturally gives you a feeling of being very welcome. Besides good conversations and her openness, we enjoyed the AMAZING food she prepared for us - really, these meals are better than most restaurants. So that was incredible!
There are 3 lovely cats, a bunch of chickens we build a sand-bath for and many birds that live in the huge trees sorrounding the farm.
Be prepared to get your hands dirty and to actually do the jobs, but also be prepared to end up staying much longer than you planned :-) This place is just very calm and you can really find a connection to nature and yourself, if you want to.
