I need to be occupied both physically and mentally. Two years I finished renovating my house in France and needed another project to keep me occupied. So I completed 2 weeks of Workaway work on a farm one hour north of Bordeaux in France. I then returned to Australia where I undertook more workaway jobs as well as in New Zealand. Last week I returned from France where I spent considerable time workawaying including 3 weeks with my first workaway host that I met last year. I am now back in Australia until the end of next May when I return to France.

I have a large range of DIY skills having recently completed the renovation of my 400 year old house in the Languedoc region in southern France 2 years ago. I needed another project after that and a friend suggested "Workaway" and it has been the solution for me. I am an avid gardener and something of a jack of all trades.

I have the Teaching English as a Foreign Language to Adults Certificate from Cambridge University and am off to work at an English school in Poland in August with Workaway.
I am keen on maintaining a high level of physical fitness with cycling, stand up paddle boarding, bush walking, camping and swimming among my pursuits.
I enjoy meeting and having decent conversations with people from different backgrounds and nationalities.

I recently had a most enjoyable week with Liz. She is wonderful company and as for her cooking , well it is second to none.Liz is a very determined woman as she undertakes the massive internal restructuring of her grand house. The finished product shall be a credit to her.

I recently had a few days working with Celi. And what a great experience it was! Celi is wonderful company - friendly, intelligent and great sense of humour. And as for the food - would put a 5 star Michillin restaurant to shame. I cannot wait to return..

He’s got amazing energy and just gets stuck into whatever needs doing and there was some hard yakka stuff to do on my property - and he even retiled by shower. Paul spent 6 days with us in August in our English immersion program in Poland. He was a great addition to our team! He has a very positive attitude and a great sense of humour. I have just had a few days working at Yurpia’s. It was a lovely experience to stay with someone who is so attached to the natural world and to be in such a peaceful setting. Her knowledge of native flora and fauna is amazing . The standard of accommodation and quality and quantity of the meals she provided is second to none.

A super useful Workawayer with lots of energy and ideas. Able to work without supervision, and with plenty of intitiative to see what needed to be done. Paul has a wealth of experience to draw on in maintenance and gardening, and is also interested in others and their activities. A very good Workawayer to host, and I would happily host again.

If there was a gold star award for Workaways then Paul would win it. He has a strong work ethic, is very capable and can turn his hand to most tasks. Most importantly he works unsupervised and will find himself jobs to do if he gets everything finished (which he did a lot!) Paul was very helpful and an accomplished handyman.
He was both energetic and willing to do any of the small repairs and yard clean up for me.

I loved my time with Marie. When there were tasks that i could not do alone, Marie was there to help. Otherwise Marie left me to get on with the job.
She is a wonderful conversationalist with a good sense of humour. And to top it off, Marie is a great cook and the servings were large. I am glad that I helped her with her project.

Paul is a super great man, 76 and clever, dynamic, with common sense, experience, reaching out to all trades, easy going, ...as he says , 30 in his head and healthy. Youngest people should take him as an example! Do take care of him if you have the chance to have him at home!
