Beschreibung

I’m a practical, easy-going person who’s happiest when I’m learning something useful. I’m taking my first proper steps into carpentry and natural building, and I’m committed to making it a long-term craft, not just an interest.

I’ve built a good mix of skills through practical work — gardening, landscaping, and some furniture restoration. It’s given me a good feel for tools and a steady, hands-on approach to learning new things.

My last project was a four-month stint on an architectural strawbale house in Christchurch, NZ. I was involved in the late stages of the process — ceilings, floors, cladding, light framing, a bit of plastering, and helping with an earthen floor. It gave me a good foundation and confirmed that this is the kind of work I want to keep moving toward long-term.

In Australia I’m hoping to keep developing as a carpenter — both through building and by learning more fine joinery and cabinetry. I’m motivated, reliable, and keen to learn from people who are more skilled than I.

Outside of building, I’m into nature skills and traditional crafts. I’m curious about hunting, fishing, bushcraft, and i would love to learn horse riding. Anything that gets me outdoors, learning, and a bit more self-reliant always interests me.

I have good general competence in all things labour and handiwork, I most enjoy building projects which I have experience in both from Workaway and family life back home. I am very easygoing and take to any work happily and diligently and what I don’t already know I’m always keen to learn quickly!
