Beschreibung
Beautiful place with river, ponds and small forest is situated in rural environment not far from regular buses. In the start of 2023 on the plot 9,3 ha has developed the experimental permaculture project.
Many activities take a place here: permaculture festivals, different workshops, celebrating of solstice , music events.
The host has Permaculture diploma and can share with knowledges about agriculture, forest gardens, various eco building technologies.
Our project also has strong connection with art, crafts, musical instruments and folklore. If you like nature, gardening, eco building, singing, playing, crafts and creativity, this place is for you.
It should be noted that the project is looking for self sustainable, cretive minding people who after the probationary period could become our team members. Especially welcome are people with building and carpenter skills.

You will have opportunity to learn working with some ancient traditional tools as well contemporary technologies. You will see original building techniques that you could learn and apply in your home. If you like, you could learn much about permaculture and forest gardens. After work and during the day we spend lot of time for talking about everything.
You will listen Latvian, that is one of the oldest European language, the most related with Lithuanian and Sanskrit.
Here is place you can open your creativity working together on some special projects.
Arbeit
Here is a big old house that need renovation and coloring. Here are also something to do in garden, cleaning and organizing in home, cleaning of the forest, preparing firewood, grass trimming... Very welcome are volunteers with carpenter skills. I'm sure we will find something that you like and bring benefits.

Unterkunft
There are two rooms for volunteers in the big house without amenities ready for living and some that need to prepare better for living. A compost toilet is outside the house. Here is exclusive opportunity you also can try sleeping in straw if you like such experience. Bathing in warmer weather takes place in an large old stile bath, near in nature, in the pond or once per week in traditional timber sauna.
Vegetarian food for volunteers is provided three times per day. You will have the opportunity to enjoy some traditional Latvian dishes, farm-produced dairy products, interesting healthy food from organic, locally grown fruits, vegetables, wild plants and mushrooms. If you wish, you can buy something special for yourself at the auto shop in the center of the village.

In your free time you can swim in the pond, make some DIY project, spend time playing music by the fire, with regular buses visit the nearest city Kuldiga that is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List or go to Liepaja, city next to the Baltic sea that is chosen as European Capital of Culture 2027 or Ventspils.

I was surprised about his enthusiasm doing different tipe of outside job: cleaning forest garden territory of old bushes, planting new trees, taking care about wine yard ,.. He also repaired some broken things. Nick definetly could become very good farmer. I suggest such helper everybody.
