I've stayed with Purity, Svein and Theo for 3 weeks. They are genuine, hard-working, creative people. They are open-minded and it is terrific to feel, with them, that we are one global community. Their warmth, absolutely welcoming attitude made me even more eager to perform at my best. Purity had specified that there would be hard work. And there was indeed; which I enjoyed pretty much. I stayed in a cosy and clean american trailer. The excellent accommodation is highly a plus. I mostly helped to shape the property site, advance the first stage of building a garage and storage space, i.e lay down the fundation. I also helped with cleaning the main house that would serve for R'bnb guests. I did partake with the family's routine; i.e cooking meals, caring for Theo, who is an amazing, smart toddler, really delightful to be around. By the way, Purity is a tremendous chef !! You'll love the dinner time ^ ^ The location, though rather close to Oslo, is surrounded by forest and hiking trails, which makes it quiet and offer remarkable opportunies to connect with Mother Nature! I had previously planned to stay 10 days, but the gratifying work, the cool vibes, and the desire to see the garage building advancement convinced me to extend my stay. Their flexibility is worth to be saluted. Overall, It was rewarding to be truly a helping hand. It was such a positive experience, that I really recommend this family as hosts. Thank you so much, Purity and Svein !! Eventually, we'll meet again <3 <3 <3 You are welcome in France anytime.

Our stay was full of new experiences! Our stay included feeding horses and giving them medication, cleaning around the house and cutting olive trees etc. We were three girls so the house was a bit small for us but its good for two. In the house there is everything you need for basic standard living. We learned a lot of new things that we will always remember and Salvatore and his family are very welcoming. Some things were a bit more challenging than others with our stay, for example babysitting for longer times when you can't communicate with the children (because of language barriers) and also some cultural differences that we weren't prepared for. The communication with Salvatore and Emanuela was good, just remember to ask if there is something you don't understand. Overall our stay gave us a lot of new experiences, the ranch is beautiful and its proximity to Castelvetrano is also nice.

Renata îs a Workaway host worthy meeting! I totally recommend her, especially if you're a beginner with workaway and want to expand your experience at most. Indeed, I could get to nurture the earth, a beautiful occasion to get grounded and be able to enjoy some of the amazing places around Fredrikstad! Interacting with this really welcoming host was full of insights and opportunities of growth!!! Yeah, we had many conversations where we did not agree at all, and yet there was a real dialogue, with careful listening and endeavor to understand one another... which created and enhanced a respectul and inherent fondness. She is helpful, obliging, straightforward (which I appreciate) and super kind. A few important things; if you like being clean, respectful of the house rules and an open-minded person, then your stay with Renate will be outstanding. Her place is a haven to be, enjoy and meditate. Very close to interesting places such as Isegran. And despite she isn't offering meal, she treats you majestically actually...!!! Nonetheless, Renata's place may not be useful for a nomad worker, even though it's perfectly located. We had such a good time that the time flew like a blink of an eye...without forgetting to mention Tutu, a gorgeous grey hound and obedient. Overall, I'd say my stay with Renata was terrific ! Just bring the best of yourself and you'll be provided with an unforgettable time and memory of Norway... ^^

I stayed with the family for about three weeks and had the most amazing time! From the very beginning, they were incredibly kind, generous, and welcoming. They always made sure I felt right at home and were happy to help whenever I needed anything. I also spent a lot of time with the girls. We played fun games, studied some German together, and I even had the chance to practice my Spanish. They are both so kind and talented. I will truly miss them! Some of my favorite memories include the delicious meals we shared, the movies we watched together, the time at the beach, and of course their cute dog, Billy :) I’m so grateful for this experience and couldn’t have imagined a better family for my first Workaway. Thank you so much for everything!

Ian was a pleasure to host. He fitted in so well with our program and was always ready to help with whatever project we were working on. He is skilled in many areas and also very capable of working independently. He is friendly and unassuming so very easy company. He is a great cook which was a bonus for me and we enjoyed some yummy meals cooked by him. I recommend him highly to other hosts.

the workaway with tanja and robert was my first one and i am very happy to have chosen this one! tanja and robert are both lovely people. open minded, easy going and humorous. they include you in their life and give you a lot of trust. every day we had lunch and dinner together. there was another workawayer and in the evening the four of us often played some card games or watched tv. robert and tanja took us to their weekly yoga session. on one day we all went to the ebro delta and robert who is a bird expert gave us a private bird tour. thank you so much for this! the landscape is absolutely beautiful, there are amazing swimming spots, nice hikes to do and beautiful villages to visit. there are e-bikes available, so you can get around. thank you tanja and robert for this experience, it was a wonderful stay. if i have the chance i would definitely come back!

Dear Graeme, On behalf of everyone at our Junior Schools, I want to extend our deepest thanks for the time you spent with us. Your visit may have been short, but the impact you left is lasting and unforgettable. Your big heart for the children shone through in everything you did—from the way you shared your time and knowledge to the thoughtful gifts you brought. The pupils will always remember your kindness, and so will we. The gifts you gave have blessed not only the children but the entire school community, leaving a true landmark in our lives. We are forever grateful for your generosity and the joy you brought to the school. Please know that you have a home here whenever you wish to return, and we hope our paths will cross again soon. With heartfelt appreciation.

My stay at Peg's was something different. I actually can't describe how valuable my whole experience was. Peg is the most interesting, caring and most of all fun woman that I've ever met (and probably will ever meet) not of my own age. Peg and I genuinely became friends in the total of 5 weeks that I stayed (2 more than anticipated). We called each other roommates at the end of my stay. Peg gave me more than I could have wished for. She gave me the sweetest little trailer with a very comfortable bed, a kitchen stocked with all the utensils and fresh food you (literally) wish for, located in the most beautiful and rural area in Arizona. The above is just a start of what she has given me. She gave me the real look into her life and community in the South West for which I'm internally grateful. Peg cares for everything that's on her land the best possible. The plants, the animals, the ground and the people including me and herself were all very well treated. As she likes to say: 'I don't live 'on' the land, I live 'with' the land. Having experienced both drought and thunderstorms made the stay in the Bradshaw mountains even more special. In summer reading my book on the porch in the evening sun, and in autumn beginning or ending the day with a fire out in the crisp air. It's allmost too magical to believe. Therefore leaving the place and saying bye to Peg was hard as we will probably not see each other again (soon). But the fact that it was hard, only confirms that it was such an amazing time, which I will never forget. Peg, I told you already a zillion times, but thanks so so so much. You are the best! Oh and I guess I need to say something about the work. There's lots to do and Peg gives you all the freedom to choose whatever fits you. Have fun!!!

Jonas' four-week stay was among my best Workaway hosting experiences. He both helped me greatly with my German and eagerly immersed himself in as much American culture as I could expose him to, from baseball games to target practice, from wild burros to instant pancakes. When it became clear that another Workawayer would be staying with me at the same time, Jonas took the initiative to reach out to him, and they actually traveled together both before and after their time with me. I asked for some help from Jonas and his roommate with some yard and indoor projects, which they completed splendidly. He also took on much of the driving for our various roadtrips and helped plan and prepare several communal meals. He even arrived with a very thoughtful gift, which I will treasure always. Jonas is mature, responsible and independent -- and, most importantly, just a fun guy. He went home to Germany as a friend and I sincerely hope that we meet up again someday!

I had a great time and experience to be guest and volunteer in the family. I felt like home and I am thankful to the fate and to this site that I meet these nice people. During 14 days I participated in different events and activities, I learned something new and we shared ideas with the hosts. It was a good involvement to meet kind people and to feel friendship.

Kevin is an awesome human and a joy to work alongside - his presence is calm and reassuring, all tasks were met with curiosity, a 'can-do' attitude and a genuine willingness to learn, expand and connect. Kevin helped with a wide range of tasks from playing games with our daughter to skilfully rebuilding a xisto wall and installing a eucalyptus roof-frame. He is amazing with animals, pays attention to detail in all areas of life and even does the washing up (without being asked!!!) He is reliable, capable and extremely trustworthy and an asset to any project or community. He is also very thoughtful and compassionate and has wisdom to share both in how he lives his life and his aspirations for himself and the world!! Thank you for your time, effort and care!!

I had an incredible three months with this beautiful family in Madrid. They were so welcoming and made me feel like part of the family from the start. The two daughters were a joy to be around. They are very sweet and funny, and there was never a dull moment with them. I will miss them a lot. Outside of work, Javier and Mapi were very generous, showing me interesting sights in and around Madrid. It was difficult to say goodbye and I would highly recommend this placement to any Workawayer looking for a genuine and friendly family experience.

Bernd is wonderful in everything he does. Great skills with fixing cars and in carpentry, but also generally in all projects, very professional, focused, quick to learn, and a good worker. Friendly and nice. We run a busy farm and he's been a wonderful help with the sheep and more things in the busy sheep roundups season here in Iceland. We highly recommend him. Bernd, thank you for coming, for all your help and your good company.

I had the loveliest experience at Elisabeth's home! The natural beauty of the area was amazing to see and I enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere that the space holds. Each day was a little different which was super fun. I especially liked chopping wood and cooking in the beautiful rustic kitchen! I hope to come back again one day with more skills and more recipes!

These past three weeks felt like a dream come true. I had never volunteered or been part of an organization like this before, so I was a bit anxious about the idea of going abroad and committing to weeks of volunteering. But from the moment I arrived, Anna, Rita, and Rino made me feel incredibly welcomed, safe, and comfortable. They were generous with their time and knowledge; they helped me explore the local region, improve my Italian, and understand the reality of restoring and maintaining a culturally rich villa. Each morning and early afternoon, we worked hard: trimming bushes, watering gardens, preparing for events, and working on the new irrigation system. During our free time, I would read in the shade of trees, nap by the swimming pool, jog through the countryside and hangout with the other volunteers. On several occasions, we would all share lunches and dinners. Each filled with stories about our past adventures, laughter, and a genuine sense of merriment. It was, honestly, heaven. I can’t imagine another Workaway experience being as fulfilling and wonderful as this one. Thank you guys, for everything.

My stay from August to September 2025 with Evi was just amazing! I could not have wished for a better first workaway experience! She made me feel so welcome and I really felt at home in Gibsons, I'm so thankful for that☺️ Evi is such a lovely, kind, fun and energetic person! During my stay I watered, harvested and weeded the garden, greenhouse and the balcony which I loved doing cause it's so peaceful outside! We also had very many delicious vegetables to eat! I also did a lot of cooking, baking and differnt household tasks. I met a lot of Evis friends, who are really lovely people and I heard a lot of interesting stories. We also visited Ivan and I am so happy I got to meet him! He's very lovely and fun and I loved seeing him and Evi together🥰 In our free time we went hiking, played darts and went swimming. I really enjoyed my time in Gibsons and would highly recommend staying with Evi!!

I stayed in Catherine’s home for one month and it was great to take part in her life change, from proud owner of a restaurant and a hotel who hosted underage migrants in the last years, to her new house in Bourges. It was a challenging process, exacerbated for a lot of administrative issues. Both of us were flexible with our availability and timetable and we could cope with it. First, we moved all her belongings to the new house. It was a great help the extraordinary job that previous workawayers, Anastasia and Cameron did. After that, we started the arrangement of the garden, the terrace and the house. It’s a lovely new home that I’m sure future voluntaries will enjoy. Some information that they can find interesting is that the new house is next to the train station and not far from the bus station. Bourges is at the center of France and that will let them plenty of possibilities to explore the country. Bourges is a beautiful city, with plenty of historic buildings (the cathedral and the Jacques Cœur’s palace for example) and an intense cultural life. The bus service is free here. Despite all the issues she had to face, Catherine was very generous with her free time. I could meet her lovely mother and friends. She found the time to show me the region: the vineyards in Sancerre, châteaux like Valençay, bike trips along the Canal du Berry… She drove me through secondary roads, little villages, châteaux and forests. She loves her region and share with me her wide knowledge about it. Food and wine are a kind of religion here. She prepared every day different and tasty recipes, accompanied by good wine. To me, that I love to listen about life experiences, it was great to know about her family background, her time in Tasmania, all the travels and different jobs she has had and her interesting life history. I could practice my French although her English is excellent, as future voluntaries can find interesting to know. Thank you, Catherine for this great fun I had chez vous, all the experiences I could live in Bourges and your generosity with your free time in those stressful days. Good luck with your new life and home and all the best in this new period that starts in your life. Saluts à Victoire et Voltaire.
