Vincent is a really good person, skilled, and always looking for perfection on any task he endures. He helped us for 2 weeks, in this time he helped us with the weed of our small farm, also welcomed some of our guests and made a very good job at cleaning a couple of windows that were very dirty. Unfortunately he had to leave earlier to what we have arranged. He has a very good energy and a very good spanish level. He has his own way of critical thinking, which is always nice when you want a second point of view. Safe travels!

Thank you, Jane for welcoming us into your beautiful home surrounded by nature and the cutest dog everrr! It was a pleasure to stay with you and we are so glad that we were able to alleviate some of the stress of moving out! From great nights by the fire, to great home cook meals, to exploring the local area, to great conversations and music - we really could not ask for much more for our first workaway experience! Your wisdom and thirst for life has inspired us and we will continue to take it with us on our travels! Thank you! Kim and Freya :)

Staying at Marias house was an incredible experience fulled with cultural, gastronomic and skills exchange. At the same time while working at her house, garden, vegetable garden or any other activity she needs help with. Maria is a beautiful person, hard worker, that will expect the same from you while you're helping her. The more you get to know her the more you will realised all the things she does for other people and will definitely do for you in case you need it. I wouldn't miss the chance of experiencing life in the Italian countryside with Maria. It was a pleasure to meet you !

I've spent 2 weeks at Lin's place in the middle of the forest at an old Swedish summer house. The location is very peaceful and relaxing, and it can be ideal if you want to connect with nature. From the very beginning, Lin has welcomed me very warmly and friendly. We instantly clicked and got along well throughout the time spent together. Communicating openly, honestly and with compassion went very smoothly with Lin. She made an extra effort to introduce me to Swedish cuisine, which I am very grateful for. I've got to try and taste knäckebröd, blodpudding ( a bit weird 😅), sill and leverpastej. We had breakfast, lunch and dinner together, accompanied by great conversations. She also made sure to have fika together daily. Lin also challenged me positively to try out new things, which I very much appreciate. I could tell that she is a caring person who wants to help others and wants the best for other people. I've spent multiple days helping with painting the outside walls of the house. Besides this, I've also helped with household chores such as cooking and doing the dishes, and very importantly, taking care and spending time with the dogs, Ramses and Luna. Ramses is very playful and sometimes chaotic, but also a big cuddlebear. Luna is very gentle and she adores belly rubs. I had a great time sitting and playing with the dogs, as well as walking them. I've also got to meet Goran, who spent 4 days with us. He passionately told me some of his stories from the past, as well as showing me some of his traveling photos. He was also very friendly and showed me the surrounding areas. It was a very interesting and unique experience, being in the middle of the forest. Lin, Goran, Ramses and Luna made sure that every day was worth it. They all contributed to an amazing and pleasant time together. I would definitely recommend Lin to other Workawayers. Not only does she have a big and caring heart, a warm soul and good energy, but she also has a lot of interesting stories and you can definitely have great conversations with her. Thank you for everything, Lin. 😁

Alan is a great carpenter and will be an excellent one in the future. He solves problems, a key component of carpentry, rather than waiting to be told what to do. That said, he knows his limits, and would be sure to ask if he needed advice on a technique or a material. Both of these are rare but key components of a good carpenter. He has boundless energy (he often would finish his Workaway tasks, and then go for a 20 km run through the mountains), a keen sense of humour, curiosity in spades, and a great work ethic including pride in completing his tasks and doing so with flair. His completion of our shower is a great example. He cooks better than he thinks, he stepped in whenever he saw help was needed, he made others better just working with them, and he made us laugh (particularly when he did his now famous "chair dives" off the local dock.) Alan is a great worker with a wide range of skills from joinery, to tiling, to managing a chainsaw (including an Alaska Mill) , and an even better person! Highly, highly recommended across the board, and we hope to keep in touch with him in the future.

I couldn't ask for a better experience for my first workaway. Claude and Sheela were amazing and so kind. They were always trying to make me feel comfortable and helping with my understanding of french. They were also introducing me to wonderful people and the french culture. Claude's cooking was amazing! I will miss them and I hope we can meet again soon.

Andrew was a great help in my house to fulfill one of my dreams to create a new room. He has great carpenter skills and he is very creative. We also had really heartwarming conversations, fun while watching movies, swimming in the pool and listening to some good concerts, meeting some of my friends and so much more. It was a real pleasure to have him here. I am very thankful for all the construction work he did and the great time we spent together. Thanks Andrew!!!

What can I say!! Amazing family. Vanessa is an amazing mother of 2 of the most adorable kids I've ever met! She's amazingly kind, helpful and considerate - as well as hard working! And to my best mate Pablo (even though you are an Inter Fan) - I consider you as my little bro 👊, so cheeky, funny and very good at football. Always by my side 😂 I will return hopefully when you have school holidays to coach you at football (and help you with English). And to little Alice in Wonderland - a cheeky princess 👸 and so full of character. Will miss you all. I hope you stay in touch and hopefully see you again very soon! Ciao and Grazie :)

The girls were here for the first two weeks of September. They were a great help to us with the animals and the children; they were very active and well-behaved. Always ready to help, very friendly and joking, they never backed down from any task and even prepared some delicious desserts for us.

Jonah is one of those rare gems you hope will remain in your life after the Workaway ends. He was a real joy to have as part of the family. He's funny and a talented chef, but his real gift is his deep empathy and thoughtfulness for those he's with. We can't count the number of times Johan lifted spirits by surprising people with a pot of tea, or a strange concoction from the kitchen, or spontaneous offer of a croquet game with bizarre rules. He is simply one of the greats. While landscaping , and insulating our home, and serving as an assistant on some difficult building projects, he worked hard, he learned as he went, he took pride in his results, and he did it all with good humour and an eye to living life. We can't recommend him more highly.

What a great cultural experience! I just spent a month in Pitalito and really enjoyed my time. I was welcomed at home and at the school with open arms! I had a room to myself, the food provided was always delicious and the house was very clean and lively, with Jhon's family and the pets. I had a lot of freedom to rest and explore the town by myself, but was also often invited to activities by Jhon or by students. Pitalito has everything you might need: many gyms, cute cafes, shops, supermarkets and beautiful nature all around. It's also an amazing place to practice Spanish and to dive into authentic Colombian culture, away from touristy towns. As for the work at the school, it was varied: virtual or live classes, children, teenagers or adults, individual or group classes and levels from A1 to B2. I had no previous teaching experience and everything still went pretty well. Jhon provided lesson plans for some classes and for others, I made my own. You should definitely be creative, independent and motivated to make the most of your classes, but it's a great way to get some teaching experience! Students were welcoming, curious and interested. Speaking some Spanish definitely helps to connect with them, but it's not mandatory at all. I definitely recommend this workaway, thanks again for having me!

I spent one week at Carlos place and it was really nice! Carlos is really helpful, kind and wants the volunteers to feel good. And the place is in a very peacful area and the air was so fresh:) I helped mainly with cleaning and its all carried out in a non-stressful way, as carlos is explaining what to do in a kind way. We had good meals together and good conversations, and the ambient is relaxed and warm.. thankyou very much for having me! :)

Our stay with Mike was a fantastic introduction to the workaway world. Though the work was hard, it was rewarding too, as we could directly see the impact of our work on his land. he’d always be there to cook a big meal for us at the end of the day if no other workaway stepped up to the task. the accommodation was two comfy beds in a spacious room, the fridge was always stocked with healthy vegetarian options, and he’d even sometimes purchased meat for us if we needed it in a dish we were cooking. we miss him already!

Theresa stayed with us for a few days and we really enjoyed her company! She worked hard, showed great motivation and initiative, and helped out with a wide variety of tasks. Among other things, she stabilized a natural stone wall, assembled heavy-duty shelving, removed weeds, and worked hard on various jobs around the house. It was especially nice that we were able to take her to one of our shows to give her an insight into our work. She spontaneously invited her daughter, who lives nearby – we hope we were able to give them both a sunny and special moment ☀️ Theresa was always friendly, helpful, and easygoing. We can definitely recommend her as a Workawayer and wish her all the best for her future travels! 🌿✨

Sophia stayed with us for a week, which went by all too quickly! She fit right into our family. She is inquisitive, has an excellent work ethic, and has lots to share (including conversation, an interesting background, many skills, etc). She seemed to make the best of her time here-- getting a local gym membership (and going there each day!), bike riding, and hiking/walking on the riverfront trails—as well having an attitude that made tasks seem like fun: She mentioned how she spent time admiring and comparing the tomatoes as she harvested, and had fun climbing the jungle gym to harvest beans. Subsequently, she made me see these things more positively, too. Sophia was an invaluable mentor to me (ie sharing organizing experience and offering her suggestions like bagging the floor cleaner appliance), and she inspired me to approach some of the jobs I do differently. Sophia helped with a lot of things, including harvesting, chicken care, making tomato sauce (peeling hundreds of tomatoes!), and housework. She made our back deck look inviting again! We sincerely appreciate all her help and participation in our projects! Cheerful, helpful, thorough, and extremely capable of working alone or alongside one of us, Sophia is conscientious of others and an easy person to have as a housemate. We hope she will come back—she’s always welcome here. If you get the chance to host Sophia, do it!

It's been a real pleasure having Lena stay over the past fortnight. She reached me at a time when the house was full, so spent most of her sleeping time in her vehicle. She possesses that rare quality of initiative - always thinking about what she is doing, what is ahead and how she can fill any gaps. I appreciated her constant willingness to help out with tasks around the house, along with her adaptability to be outside in less than ideal conditions. She fitted in nicely with the other Workawayers and formed a great working partnership with Carly. She is thorough and conscientious in all that she does. In summary, an excellent workaway exchange. I firmly recommend Lena and wish her all the best for the rest of her NZ adventures

I've spent simple, yet significant and refreshing 17 days with Ingrid and Ola. This couple radiate Harmony and Peace. And their family, whom I had the opportunity to meet, are just as kind and welcoming. Such tremendously warm, accommodating, respectful, generous, hard-working, creative, knowledgeable and neat Workaway hosts are a gem. I can't emphasize enough how much they are great people. Interacting with Ingrid opened up a world full of possibilities. This Norwegian family is one that you'll leave reluctantly. They embody the calmness and sharpness if this cutulre. I mostly did gardening, and a spring clean. Which I was most happy to do. My schedule was well organized and respected. The accommodation is just perfect. The location offers multiples opportunies to visit beautiful Gjovik and its surroundings. And of course, they have super sweet Siberian cats, and Leo who loves company. ^ ^ a little paradise for cat lovers !! My stay was energizing and relaxing!!! I totally recommend Ingrid and Ola, friendliest people one can wish for. They're absolutely worth meeting. I felt like family, and had an authentic Norwegian experience. Thank you so much for everything !!! Hope to see you again <3

Mark and Dom reached me directly from an epic journey from their home, so it took a day or so to start getting to know them as they recovered. They are very friendly, cruisy guys who fitted in immediately with me and the other two Workawayers staying at the time. They both enjoy cooking and were happy to pitch in with a preparing a meal and kitchen help. Mark's background in forestry planting and landscape contracting came in handy with the planting, forest slash clearing, mulch spreading and noxious weed control that occupied much of their time here. Dom is less accustomed to such physical tasks, but put in a good effort. They made steady progress between them. I strongly recommend having a guitar in the house to benefit from Mark's excellent playing and singing. Overall, a good Workaway experience for me and I enjoyed their 9 day stay.
