Working at this place was honestly one of the best experiences ever! Everyone at the hostel is incredibly kind, helpful, and respectful, which makes it feel like a real family. You also get great discounts and the chance to take part in amazing activities around Granada. The volunteer room is very comfortable and spacious, and the workload is totally fair. Working at the bar was so much fun, we met people from all over the world and learned so many new skills along the way. We absolutely loved the entire team and will miss them a lot. We would 100% come back if we ever get the chance!

It was great to meet and help out Patricia, we did all sorts of different jobs which made each day interesting & varied. We loved being part of a team with the other Workawayers and having our meals together. For our first experience we have very fond memories, Thank you!

Ubuntu es un lugar precioso con gente muy amable que ofrece la oportunidad de realizar un voluntariado único. Margarita, Carolina y todo el equipo se dedican con gran pasión a que el turismo en la isla sea sostenible. Realizan una importante labor en la comunidad y se ocupan de niños en situaciones difíciles. La comunicación con Margarita antes de nuestra llegada fue impecable y la planificación del viaje desde Cartagena que ella organizó funcionó a la perfección. Durante nuestra estancia en la isla, nos ocupamos de entre uno y siete niños de entre cuatro y once años durante dos o tres horas por la mañana y por la tarde los días laborables. Además, pudimos participar en la creación y el mantenimiento de una nueva planta de compostaje. Las estructuras aún se encuentran en proceso de desarrollo, lo que, por un lado, ofrece libertad y margen de maniobra, pero, por otro, también conlleva ciertas incertidumbres (por ejemplo, la planificación del cuidado de los niños o las expectativas que se tienen de nosotros). El trabajo con los niños fue gratificante, pero también exigente. Para los futuros voluntarios, nos parece importante que tengan un buen dominio del español y sean capaces de lidiar con las difíciles circunstancias biográficas de los niños. Nos parece útil tener experiencia en el cuidado de niños o en pedagogía. El sencillo alojamiento disponía de una cama con mosquitera y un baño privado. Durante los días laborables, recibíamos todas las comidas en el lugar. En nuestro tiempo libre y en los días libres, pudimos disfrutar de la naturaleza, las hermosas playas y el snorkel.

Helen and Bromzy are the most welcoming people you can imagine. Unfortunately, we only spent a few days with them, we would have loved to stay longer. Helen is an excellent cook and prepared the most delicious meals ever and even provided us with food for the road. We felt like she had golden hands, because every food she touched tasted heavenly. We slept in the pond room which was lovely. Moreover, we helped her with cleaning up her property and her flower garden. WiFi is available. They truly made us feel at home, we had great conversations and she even gave us tips for trips in the area and lifestyle in New Zealand. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and would always feel blessed to come back and pay them another visit. Thank you Helen and Bromzy for the most wonderful time at your place. Amir looked after our house and animals for 4 weeks while we were away. He was great! He kept the house clean and safe, and our dog and cats love him. He kept us informed while we were away, so we felt very comfortable leaving our house and farm in his hands. We hope to see Amir again this summer! All the best!

Took a year but we finally got to meet, great guy, hard worker, really knows his stuff!

I wish I had some photos of Leo coming back from the Carpentry shop. This guy would work all day building something and come back covered had to toe black from curing furniture. Awesome guy, was really a pleasure to have around

Robin is a character, very outgoing, has that German efficiency and the Colombian charm.

Our time at Maria's was one of the most special experiences of our lives. Maria, Heather, and their friends in Kalamata are all wonderful people who did an amazing job helping us get a feel for authentic Greek culture and the surrounding landscape (which is STUNNING, btw). One thing we really appreciated about Maria's was the ability to work on our own schedule - still putting in 5 hours/day minimum, but doing it on our own time to get through the list we were given. This allowed us to enjoy the nice weather when we had it! Our accommodation was lovely and we really enjoyed playing games with Maria & Heather at night while enjoying the view of Kalamata, and sharing meals together. Maria is a great cook 😊 Anyone seeking Workaway opportunities in Greece - this is your best bet. The Peloponnese feels like a Greek island without the headache associated with getting to one. We rented a car for our 2 week stay and the total came to €2 per day. We would love to come back in the future to help out some more.

Max and Alba stayed with us for a couple of weeks and quickly felt like part of the household. They both speak good English (Alba’s is especially strong) and were good company. They helped with garden work including lots of weeding and mulching. Alba treated us to some cooking and baking. We enjoyed hanging out with them in the evening playing cards and really enjoyed having them stay and would happily recommend them to others. 'Have a nice day!'

I can not describe how incredibly lucky I feel to have spent two weeks with Noya. My time here was spent hiking through some of the most beautiful landscapes I've ever seen, learning about the plants of the forest, caring for trees, weeding the fields, and helping clean the work areas. None of my time felt like work at all! Noya is genuinely one of the smartest people I've ever met in my entire life, and each day felt like being given front-row seats to the world's best lecture series! I felt welcomed into her beautiful home from day 1, and enjoyed reading by the fire, cooking and eating beautiful food with Noya, playing with the amazing dogs, and getting to hear hilarious stories from Noya's incredible life. My only regret is that I did not get to stay longer! This is the place for you if you are looking to clear your head, slow down your pace of life, get off the grid, and get your hands dirty. Noya's enthusiasm and incredible dedication to her project is absolutely infectious, and I felt so lucky to be able to be a part of this undertaking, if only for a short time. The accommodations were amazing (super comfy bed in one of the coolest houses I've ever seen!), the food was delicious, and the work was inspiring. I can not recommend this enough! I miss Noya and her dogs already and hope to return at some point! Lots of love, Maria

He tenido una experiencia excelente con Gerard y Mónica. Son anfitriones muy cálidos y atentos, siempre pendientes de que no me faltara nada y de que me sintiera cómoda en todo momento. Intercambiamos experiencias, me cocinaron comidas típicas y me enseñaron mucho de la cultura catalana. El lugar es realmente hermoso: una finca rodeada de naturaleza, a menos de diez minutos de Valls. El apartamento para los voluntarios es muy acogedor, cómodo y bien equipado, lo que hace que la estancia sea aún más agradable. Las tareas son sencillas, los horarios se respetan y son flexibles. Todo se desarrolla en un ambiente tranquilo y relajado, sin presiones. Es un lugar ideal para quienes disfrutan del contacto con la naturaleza y buscan una experiencia equilibrada y humana. Gracias, Moni y Gerard, por haber hecho de esta experiencia algo tan bonito y enriquecedor.

Even though I spent less than a week there everyone working there was nice. I was taking pictures and creating social media content and they were very flexible with the timing. I loved the vibe of the hotel and it was a pleasure shooting there. Also, the location of the hotel is amazing as it is very central, perfect for exploring in your free time. Although there was a little bit of a language barrier they are very hospitable and friendly, would recommend!

Over the years, we must have had over 40 people stay with us on the Workaway program. Amin was, without a doubt, the standout guest. Amin is Canadian and has trained as a fitter-welder. He had worked in a heavy engineering environment, and his ability to identify a problem and fix it, or suggest a solution, was extraordinary. He was in Australia to catch up with his partner and establish whether he would like to immigrate to Australia. We were happy to lend him a vehicle while he visited his friend and spoke to managers of heavy industrial works to see whether his qualifications would be a good fit. He was interesting, fun to be around, and so very easy to get on with. We have become friends with him and his partner, and although he is now back in Canada, we do hope to see him again. Words seem inadequate to express our regard for him

Ivar was our first Workaway guest. He's fun, easygoing, and responsible. The bond he formed with the land and our animals was wonderful. He's also generous in sharing his knowledge. It was a pleasure to spend even a short time with him. I hope we can meet again in the future.

Leonie and her lo friend Numi, stayed with me in November. They are positive people who got on with the tasks , which included animal care, cementing in a fence, and painting a cupboard to make it into a cat house. They are polite, happy trust worthy people. I recommend them and wish them much happiness on their journey
