Hi! I’m Amir, a mechanical designer who recently started working as a carpenter’s helper — a skill I’ve been developing through hands-on Workaway and renovation experiences across British Columbia.
I moved to Canada in 2018 and began traveling a couple of years ago to explore new places, learn practical skills, and live closer to nature. I love physical work, especially when it involves building, fixing, or creating something useful. I’m reliable, respectful, and easygoing, and I enjoy learning from people with different skills and backgrounds.

Life, for me, is about meaningful experiences — learning, connecting, and helping wherever I can.

Feb – Apr: Douglas Farm, Lasqueti Island
Pruning, gardening, and weeding — peaceful, hands-on work surrounded by nature

Apr – Jul: Amazia Farm, Oliver
Transplanting, seeding, tomato pruning, harvesting, building a greenhouse, canning food, and caring for chickens

Jul – Aug: Who-KA Farm, near Williams Lake
Weeding, woodwork, and caring for sheep — a mix of farming and carpentry

Aug – Sep: Victoria
Home maintenance, small construction tasks, and cleaning

Oct – Nov: Anderson Lake
Worked on an Earthship construction project — learned about sustainable building and teamwork

Nov – Mid-Dec: Rossland
Helped a family with childcare and Airbnb cleaning

Mid-Dec – Jan: New Denver
Built a deck, cared for sheep and chickens, did snow removal, and property maintenance

Dec 2024 – May 2025: Summerland
Gained solid hands-on carpentry experience while helping renovate homes and workshops.
Rebuilt mobile home additions, framing walls and floors, installing joists, subfloors, insulation, and windows, installed decking boards and vinyl flooring
Renovated workshops by framing, sheathing, painting, and installing new supports and doors.
Worked on house renovations, replacing rotten joists, subfloors, and siding

I’ve got a mix of hands-on and practical skills. I’ve worked in carpentry and construction — things like framing, decking, and fixing or building small structures. I also have experience with gardening, planting, and taking care of animals like chickens and sheep.

I’m reliable, organized, and easy to get along with. I like learning new things, don’t mind hard work, and always try to do every job with care and attention.
