Hello! My name is Calypso, I’m 21 years old and I study cinema in France. I’m currently taking a gap year, and I’ve always dreamed of traveling — I told myself I shouldn’t wait until retirement to make it happen! Cinema is a real passion of mine: alongside my studies, I’ve taken part in several short film shoots and I love the collective energy that builds around a creative project.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, drawing, doing artistic activities of all kinds, and spending time with friends. I’m curious, a good listener, sociable, organized, and I love meeting new people. I adapt easily to different ways of living, whether that’s being close to nature or enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of big cities.

I chose Workaway because, to me, it’s a more authentic way of traveling: sharing experiences, discovering a country through its people, and creating meaningful memories. I want to exchange, have good conversations, hear people’s stories, and discover Colombian culture in depth.

During this journey, I hope to improve my Spanish, learn practical new skills like DIY, deepen my understanding of ecology, and grow through meaningful encounters. This trip is a way for me to open up to the world, learn from others, and share beautiful moments along the way.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I speak French fluently and have basic knowledge of English and Spanish, which I’m eager to improve during my travels. I have experience with children through many babysittings and I love organizing creative activities such as drawing and other artistic hobbies.

I’m used to living in a community: I worked in a campsite where I handled cleaning and occasionally helped organize events. I particularly enjoy working on shared projects, where everyone contributes to a common goal. I’m comfortable with physical tasks and I don’t mind getting my hands dirty.

Regarding animals, I can take care of dogs and I’m very open to learning how to care for other animals. I’m curious, motivated, and I love learning new skills, especially in DIY, but also in cooking, gardening, or any other practical task I can discover
