I’ve spent 3 weeks with Jaypee’s family at the beautiful house Casa Nostra. At first, I asked for 2 weeks but I’ve extended one more week to spend Christmas at Casa. I’ve discovered the tasks only the evening I arrived, and I guess that volunteers go where there is a need, which can depend on the moment. In my case, I had to be available from 9am to 1pm (1 day off per week) to clean the breakfast dishes, change the dorm bedsheets and clean the house’s floor. I was hosted in a 12-bed dorm and breakfast was included, as well as 3 dinners per week : the famous family dinners where all the Casa guests and hosts are reunited to spend the evening together and share a very nice social event, sometimes a karaoke and always good food. After some time, the family surprised me with lovely lunchs which I truly appreciated. Last week was a bit different because another volunteer joined which was really fun. Thank you Jaypee and family for this beautiful experience. It was hard to say goodbye, if I had no plan for New Year’s Eve I would have loved staying more. Just wanted to explain the grades so that there is no misunderstanding - communication : I said I was a veggie but first breakfast they gave me meat - cultural exchange : for me there was no real cultural exchange except for the food (which is totally okay, just don't expect discovering the Lao way of life, the family is from the Philippins) - profile accuracy : the name of the profile is about building the hostel's online profile which is not what I've done

Louisa stayed with me for about three weeks, and was very good company and help around the house, walking the dogs, as well as being a victim for my search-and-rescue dog. She is very easy-going and quickly bonded with all my pets, students (helping to speak German to them) an neighbors. Very much recommended!

What a wonderful family. So peaceful and easy going.the kids were wonderful too. I really enjoyed my stay with them. The work was very satisfying and I also could do things that I liked. The food, vegetarian, was straight from the garden and I really enjoyed that. So many fruits as well Ripe from the trees. They got their milk, yoghurt and cheeses right from the farm across the road. Also Graeme guided me around to wonderful places to do some PR for his Eadible Gardentrail in the North. If you yourself is easy going, like the countryside and want to live in a sustainable way. This is the right address. Thank you for having me.

I am really thankful for the work and help, as well as the joy Johanna brought to my house. We had a good time together, she also fit on perfectly with the other workawayers at the place. Johanna helped with household chrores very thoroughly and self-motivated, as well as taking care of the plants, hiking and running with the dogs and even cleaning up and painting a long neglected room. I can only recommend Johanna to any host, she definitely knows how to get work done and is lovely company.

Andrew is an amazing person and my time on his property was life changing, so serene and beautiful with lots to explore and take in. Andrew and I hit it off right away and have developed quite the friendship, we have even met up in India to spend some time together. He is such a kind and compassionate soul. I plan to go back someday soon to help build more structures and contribute to the paradise he looks after.

I'm glad to have lived my first workaway experience with Pete. He welcomed me really well and I had a really good time working in the garden and taking care of his dog. I am really thankfull for having been introduced to his mum and his life in general on the island. Pete's cooking is so nice and made with fresh veggies and herbs from the garden. His house is also very cosy and I felt really good in my own little studio :) I recommend!

We were very lucky to have Lily as our first Workawayer, and it was a wonderful start to our hosting experience. Lily is a kind soul, always smiling, positive, and very mature for her age. With her help, we were able to clear our overgrown garden and plant our vegetables, which meant a lot to us. Our daughter absolutely loved spending time with her and is still missing her, which says so much about the bond they shared. Lily, you will always have an open door with us. Thank you for your help, your kindness, and for being such a beautiful first Workawayer. We wish you all the best on your journey.

Janet was a real help to have on our land. She put in solid work weeding and mulching throughout our natives, food forest, and veggie garden, and she was great with the chicken upkeep as well. She’s tidy, reliable, and happy to just get things done. Shes a fast learner and gets thing done to a high standard. Janet is friendly, easy to talk to, and genuinely interesting to chat with. She also helped out around the house without being asked and was very considerate about giving us space and time alone but also was a good friend to hang out with at the beach and on the deck after a long day. Overall, Janet has a very easygoing, positive nature and fit in smoothly with our rhythm here. We really enjoyed having her around and would happily host her again.

He teaches English very well . I really appreciate that I highly recommend him to the future host Thank you very much for your kind and thoughtful review. I’m truly happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay at our school and your time in Nakhon Sawan. It means a lot to me that you felt welcomed and appreciated the effort my husband and I made to show you the local area, our temples, family home, and Thai food. Sharing local culture is something we genuinely enjoy. Regarding scheduling, thank you for your understanding. As you mentioned, some delays are part of the local context, especially when working with children. I appreciate your flexibility and positive attitude during classes. I’m also glad to hear that you enjoyed teaching the students and that the workload felt manageable, allowing you time to explore the city and enjoy your personal activities. Nakhon Sawan may be a quiet city, but it truly has its own charm, and I’m happy you were able to experience the local lifestyle and community. Thank you as well for mentioning the support with transportation, meals, and accommodation. I always try my best to make volunteers feel comfortable and supported during their stay. It was a pleasure hosting you, even though your time here was short. You are always welcome back, and I truly hope our paths cross again in the future. Wishing you all the best on your journey. Warm regards, Min

christina is really passionate about her project and so she expects it from others (but she told me in advance so i knew what was expecting me) but the work there is really rewarding (even tho i sometimes wished for a more transparent communication), even though on some days i spent 10h driving around and on others i stayed all day in. at the begin it often felt overwhelming for me (as i didn't grow up with dogs, i even used to have a dog phobia) living with 25 dogs together as it was always kinda noisy and i couldn't step one foot out of my room without having at least 5 dogs (which are mostly super lovely btw) surrounding and jumping on me. but with the time i really learned to enjoy it and after leaving sri lanka i feel like i even started missing it. just beware that "me-time" is not really possible;) anyways i would defo come and volunteer again there and christina earns all my respect for running that project!

Fabio and Emilie were great guests and were great to have around. They were energetic and took on any task required of them. We enjoyed cooking and talking about the world problems. Both were very neat and left the house very clean. I wish them all the best in their travels and life.

We stayed at Nikki's and Camillo's place for about 3 weeks and we wished we could have stayed longer! They together with their daugther Esmeralda and dog Django make an amazing family! Whilst there, we helped dig out an area to play ping pong and played ping pong a lot ourselves too. (Thank you Camillo for being a great ping pong teacher!) We helped cutting fire wood and cooking great meals. They were very accommodating towards our vegan diet. Nikki even taught us how to make seitan! (And in general Nikki is an amazing cook, we had probably the best food of the trip at their place!) We also helped design and build the frame to their new greenhouse. We did not have any experience building something this scale yet and learned a lot during the project. We learned how to use power tools, level a foundation and do wood joinery. We got a lot of freedom and trust during the designing and building process. This was a very rewarding learning experience for us! We also did some small things around the gardens, like picking a lot of berries with Esmeralda. Nikki taught and told us about gardening. We played a lot with Esmeralda. She is an amazing kid with lots of energy! We were not expected to work longer than 4 hours a day during our stay and were allowed to pick when we wanted our days off ourselves. The place was great and we enjoyed being in the river followed by baths in the Hobbit House and all the great nature the place has to offer. (Including seeing a Andean Condor and several sightings of the Darwins beetle.) We were very happy with our stay with Nikki, Camillo & Esme and can only encourage visiting their amazing home yourself!!

Thank you Kate, Alex, Tessa and Jules for this wonderful week at your beautiful place in the Bay! The area is great for outdoor activities, such as swimming, hiking, kayaking and surfing, which was an absolute highlight. It has been a great first workaway experience extremly welcoming and caring. The food was absolutly delicious and Alex's wine was amazing! Thank you for sharing your stories, your home and the laughter.

I really enjoyed my stay at Min's school in Nakhon Sawan. I thought Min was a very accommodating host, as her and her husband made an effort to explore the area with us, showing us incredible temples, the old family home and even cooking exotic dishes for us. The scheduling can be a little disorganised but I think this is more of a product of local culture, as children were often late to classes. I had fun teaching the children, usually in small groups of one or two and lessons were adequately set up for me without having to think of lessons of the done, which has happened to me before. All in all, the classes were very manageable and some days I only worked for two hours, so I had plenty of free time to explore and do my own thing. As for Nakhon Sawan itself, it's a great place to base yourself and the accommodation is at the heart of the city. It's two minutes from a large park where every evening seemingly the whole city flocks to. The park has a large running track, ample gym equipment, free Muay Thai classes, and plenty of locals playing sports such as football, basketball, tennis, badminton. It's an easy place to make local friends as a foreigner. From a money saving point of view, this is a good option. Two free meals a day and accommodation included, while being in a cheap city with plenty of free things to do. Min was also paying for Grabs between schools when we were required to be in the other building, which kept costs low and was appreciated. Thank you Min for accommodating me and being an amazing host. It's a shame I could only spend one a week here but one day I hope to return. All the best!

I had a very good time here with Silvia, Alice and Andrea and they are the best family!! I only stayed here for 10 days, I wished I can stay longer with this lovely and welcoming family, and the work was mainly picking up Alice after school and bringing her to the extracurricular activities, also play with her!! Alice is really a sweet and warm girl. Silvia is really a nice person, she will help you with everything and we had lots chat which I really enjoyed a lot and I feel so so grateful for her during my short stay here❤️❤️❤️ I also had chance to try many Italian dishes cooked by Andrea which were super tasty, he also introduced every dish he cooked to me about the recipes, so I can have more knowledge about the Italian food, in a most authentic way. I am already missing you all!! And I will surely come back again soon❤️❤️❤️
