We have a little organic farm with Finnish sheep and Islandic and Estonian horses for trekking. Also a few Finnish original cows just for fun, not forgetting our dogs and a cat. We also accomodate travellers in the other end of the house during summer season. We have a big garden and also grow some garlek. Kyösti working outside the farm and Johanna at the moment at the farm. We are dreaming that one day the farm would provide us living and we both could work at home full time. Kyösti needs to be away during the weeks and Johanna cares mostly for the farm, her father is also coming to help frequently. Johanna has quite a lot of paper work/organizing. We are working on the idea that in future disabled/mentally ill people could do work therapy at the farm. Green Care /Social farming is our point of wiew and we hope that anyone who visits or spends time at the farm, would enjoy the atmosphere with nature and animals. We also sell meat and wool products straight from the farm. We love our farm and have lot’s of ideas, plans and projects – and a lot to do. We would like to welcome volunteers to share this all with us and take part in daily chores and projects. We love to have international guests and share life and experiences together!:) Volunteers may choose jobs according to their abilities and interests as long as they are also ready to get their hands dirty and work outside despite sometimes bad weather. There is gardenwork, animal care, building, machine work, forest word, cleaning the animal sheds and at the house etc. Experience with horses is good but not compulsory. At the moment we take 1-2 volunteers at the time, singles, couples or friends are all welcome to share farm life with us. We prefere long time workawayers, 3 weeks minimun, prefererably 2 months. We cook together or take turns. Work time is about 5hours a day 5 days a week. Free days are usually Sunday and Monday. We appreciate independent people who don't mind that we are away for our daily/weekly jobs and responsibilities. Johanna also would like to take time to do some art/handicraft for sale, and that is one reason we would aprreciate to have help with the daily chores at the farm.

The travellers will enjoy Finnish countryside, friendly lovely animals and hopefully learn new skills and Finnish way of life. If they can ride, they can use our horses. Our farm is by a little lake where you can swim and go rowing. In wintertime you can go cross country skiing right from the house. The country roads are nice for walking and jogging. In autumn the forests have berries and mushrooms.
Summertime and Autumn: making and fixing fences, checking on animals, gardenwork, cutting lawn, forest work, picking berries, caring for horses hooves and tack, helping with weighing, shearing, moving sheep, kitchenwork, cleaning the appartement for tourists, helping with building projects, forest work.
NOW WE ARE SEARCHING 2 WORKAWAYERS FOR AN EXTRA PROJECT,IF YOU ARE INTERESTED ABOUT BUILDING A SMALL SAUNA FROM LOGS TAKEN FROM OUR FOREST, THIS WILL BE AN INTERESTING AND LITTLE CREATIVE PROJECT. THE PLACE IS 200KM FROM OUR FARM IN ALAVUS WHERE KYÖSTI IS WORKING DURING THE WEEK. IF YOU KNOW SOME FINNISH THAT WOULD BE GREAT BUT NOT COMPULSORY!
Wintertime: feeding sheep and horses, cleaning the barn, housework, forest work, preparing things for the shop and creating new ideas, decorating, caring for horse tack, giving horses some exercise.
Springtime: Supervizing and helping with the lambing season. In March and beginning of April be prepared that sometimes we work at night if the sheep need help. These months are the toughest but also most rewarding and fun.

In summertime for volunteers accomodation we have a small cabin in our front yard or a nice little log cabin 3km from the main farm. Voluteers may use our bikes. The cabin has a little kitchenette and a superb sauna. The toilet is an outhouse. Wintertime the volunteers live in the other end of the main building with own kitchen and door outside.
Jyväskylä City is 35 km from our Farm, a skiing centre Häkärinteet is 20km away, 15km Revontuli Golf course and Bowling centre. We can take volunteers to the closest bus station when they want to visit places.

It would be good to add some info here about the space you have for digital nomads to use or how your internet connection works, it's usually important to have a decent wi-fi connection for those working online.
We have plenty of space for a campervan!
