Aloha from a hidden corner of Hawaii’s jungle. Join our hands-on permaculture immersion at an evolving off-grid jungle homestead.
We are bringing a forgotten 5-acre piece of tropical jungle back to life with our hands, hearts, and respect for the land. This is more than a project; it’s a living classroom in sustainable homesteading, permaculture, and off-grid island living.
Every day here is hands on permaculture immersion and learning . You’ll learn side-by-side how to:
• Clear invasive species then plant and tend food forests with native and Polynesian-introduced trees (ulu/breadfruit, kalo/taro, mai‘a/banana, rare palms, mango, avocado, lychee, citrus and dozens more)
• Care for free-range chickens.
• Harvest rainwater, tend solar systems, and cook on wood fires, — real off-grid skills most people only read about
• General cleaning and maintence on the existing structures
• Prepare meals from whatever the land gives us that week
In return you share your own culture — your language, recipes, stories, and whatever cultural experience you may have.
What you receive:
• Sleeping space inside our large barn-style shed. Separated by gender or couples. (Cot bed, comfortable, and dry)
• Access to any fruiting plants and wild pig.
• Basic foods. Rice, oatmeal, eggs, flour
• Hot showers with plumbing toilet
• Wifi access
• Use of bicycles
• Kitchen with propane cooker, fridge, utensils.
• Daily immersion in authentic off-grid Hawaiian jungle life
• Practical lifelong skills in permaculture, renewable energy, food preservation
• A profound connection to nature and to this very special place on earth
We ask for
• 2.5 hours a day, 5 days a week of light, varied help (always alongside us )
• A minimum stay of 1-2 weeks so the exchange feels real and meaningful
• Lots of curiosity, respect for the land, and a desire to both learn and share
No experience needed — only a good heart, willingness to smile through a little sweat, and excitement about living simply and deeply for a while.
If you’ve ever dreamed of waking up to birdsong, eating fruit straight from the tree, learning how people can live gently with the jungle. This is your place.

Located at the top of a hill in Ahuimanu Hawaii, backed up to raw state jungle land There is exploring and views for days. Learn gardening, brush clearing, general maintenance.

Arbeit
With 5 acres ofjungle land to maintain. Multiple projects going on. Help with anything from cooking, cleaning, gardening, solar setup, brush clearing, chicken care. If you have a special interest or hobby that is helpful like beekeeping, foraging, etc. we would love to learn.
