Beschreibung
You are warmly welcome to learn about life in the Finnish countryside and help us in everyday life with our homeschoolers and animals.
We offer you an experience of living with a Finnish regenerative farmers' family in the real countryside in a small village in Pirkanmaa, Finland. We live a fairly simple but meaningful life, quite far from shops and busses (15-20km) or towns (smaller 40km, Lempäälä and bigger ones 57km Tampere and 113 Turku).
We are looking for someone, who loves nature, animals, and children, and is ready for this kind of tranquil experience, staying mainly with us rather than traveling around. Of course, you have a bicycle to use and we have cars for shopping, and if we have free time and you wish, we could visit some local places together.
We have seven human family members; parents are a farmer, and a doctoral researcher (topic: intuition in regenerative farmers' decision-making), and the children are in the secondary education (17yo, 15yo) and in a homeschool (14yo, 9yo and 7yo).
Our family differs from an ordinary Finnish family since we belong to decreasing number of farmers and we are homeschooling our children. In Finland, homeschooling is an unusual - but under a growing interest - way to educate children.
We are interested in regenerative thinking and regenerative lifestyle.
We speak English somewhere between intermediate-fluent and hope you speak too.Arten von Hilfe und Lernmöglichkeiten

In Finnish scale, we have a quite large regenerative (organic) farm. We grow crops and grasslands, and we are doing adaptive rotational grazing with a beef cattle at the summertime. We have other animals too, Finnish landraces: horses, sheep and hen, and in addition, we have ponies, bunnies and a diabetic alert dog. We are also interested in cherishing Finnish traditions and one of them is draught horses and breeding them in a small scale.
We are offering possibilities to learn about
- Finnish homeschooling, Finnish traditions like sauna, Finnish food etc.
- practical things about living in the Finnish countryside at different times of the year
In addittion…
- in theory, regenerative farming practices, adaptive management including adaptive rotational grazing
- if you like, more perspective to regenerative thinking and implementing it to your own life and activities
- possibility to calm down for a moment and regenerate your connection to nature and to your self
- possibility to train horses and ponies
We are happy to receive longer help, e.g. month by month, because learning habits and connecting can take time.Projekte mit Kindern
Dieses Projekt schließt möglicherweise den Umgang mit Kindern ein. Mehr Informationen findest du in unseren Verhaltensregeln und Tipps hier.
Arbeit
NOTE! Even though we live on a farm, we are not looking for help with farm work, but with home, homeschool, and pet related work. If you are interested, we can also tell you about the work on the farm, but you should not participate in it, because we do not offer paid work.
We need help with:
- tutoring children in homeschooling on a daily basis (for example: music, physical education, English, any other languages, creative projects, other cultures, and academic subjects included if possible)
- housework
- Depending on the season, garden/yard work.
- Animal husbandry (pets: sheep, horses, chickens) if desired
Any other help that we can't even think of, and our guest would have available is also gratefully received.Gesprochene Sprachen

• We have two alternative accommodations: a cottage with a Finnish sauna and a dry toilet, heating with wood and gas, or a room in our house.
• We have Wi-fi and use it in our school and work, but sometimes the connections are unstable.
• We cook mainly Finnish food and use our own organic meat, oat and rye, and also what nature has to offer to us; herbs, mushrooms, berries and so on.
• During the visit is not allowed to use alcohol, drugs, tobacco or other intoxicant substances
We really appreciate that you understand the importance of coming healthy to visit us since we have some immunity issues in our family and a large number of animals to take care of. We are happy to answer any questions you may have regarding this topic and any other questions you have about staying with us.Etwas mehr Information
