Beschreibung
My name is Simheswara dasa and I am the Co-Regional Secretary of ISKCON Malaysia, a religious, welfare and social work organisation in Malaysia. We have a 200 acres farm of about 130KM from Kuala Lumpur and about 1hr 30mins drive. Our organisation encourages agrarian society and especially cow protection. We have about 80 cows in our farm. Around ten to fifteen workers. At our farm only vegetarian food is served and volunteers can help in farming or in any other way.
Our farm is a quiet place where you can have lot of time for yourself. You can also get really involved in the farm project if you like too as there are plenty of things to do. Meat eating, smoking, intoxication and immoral activities are not allowed in our farm. However one can step outside the farm if one wants to have a smoke or eat non vegetarian meals. This farm is located in the State of Pahang and district of Temerloh in the town of Lanchang. It is part of a and Orchard Park.

Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten
Some of our staffs are practicing Bhakti Yoga principles and know the philosophy of the Bhagavad Gita and many other Vedic scriptures. Some are of Indian origin. So Indian culture can be known from them. And we have workers who are from Cambodia, Indonesia and Nepal.
Arbeit
There are a variety of services such as:
1. making organic fertilisers
2. preparing food
3. pruning trees
4. cutting grass
5. mechanical & electrical works
6. harvesting fruits
7. Office work
And if you are interested to help, this is the place since we need lots of help to put things together especially to make it work to further help our charitable work.
And for those who like working with animals, we have
1. a bull sanctuary and cow sanctuary.
Cows & bulls that were supposed to have been killed and those who are older are living in our farm where we care for them. After all their dung are valuable matter for preparing organic fertilizers. So if you are a Veterinary doctor or a cow lover this is a nice place for you as well.
It will be a pleasure to have you here and assist us in our project as we are a non-profit organisation with aims and objectives related to charity, welfare, spiritual and benevolent work. Dress code will be best if shirts and T-shirts have sleeves and trousers to be knee length. Shoes are not to be worn inside guest house. Local culture does not encourage one to point anything with one's feet. It is deemed offensive. Always encouraged to utilise hands to move things or for pointing, etc. It is always appreciated and respectful to always use the right hand for giving or accepting things from others. Our belief is to engage persons according to their nature as much as possible. But do not worry too much, the rules are just rules and nobody will get overly upset. Just that it is nice to follow certain local cultural habits.Sprachen

5. From Lanchang Bus stand our manager will drive you to the farm directly which will be about 30 minutes. If you need to get any personal items better to inform the manager so that he can take you to a shop a Lanchang since once you are at the farm there are no shopping facilities. So all personal items best to get at Lanchang town when you arrive.
However at times we may be in Kuala Lumpur and if it works out we can pick you up from the KL Sentral Station at Brickfields and take you to the farm directly. But for this you need to keep in touch with us through our phones by WhatsApp or even just call us.
Meals and Morals:
ONLY vegetarian meals are served in our farm and we observe principles such as no gambling, no meat eating and no intoxication while in the farm. We also don't cook onions and garlic. Vegans may have to choose those preparations which are Vegan or we allow them to use the kitchen to make their own preparations. Anyway most of our cooking is actually vegan.
Nearby Interesting Places:
Workawayers at our farm can also take advantage of visiting the Kuala Gandah National Elephant Sanctuary which is a mere 30 minutes’ drive away. As our reciprocation to workawayers we may be able to drive them free to the National Elephant Sanctuary and Deerland. And if a sizeable group we can even take them to other places of interest - Negotiable. At times we also do trips to the National park.
Entertainment at farm:
Workawayers who like philosophical discussion will benefit a lot. We have a library with lots of book you can enjoy.
The environment is full of nature and you can enjoy walking around the farm.
We allow any form of yoga programmes at our farm.
We are always happy with workawayers who may like to sing, play musical instruments, play games, boating, able to inspire our workers, etc.
Work Schedule and Preferable length of stay:
Work schedule can be negotiated to workawayers preferable time since Malaysian climate can be hot at times. As such one may want to avoid the heat and work during the cooler time. Or work under roof, etc. No worry, there are lots of ponds to dive into. Work is negotiable as we have lots to do. We prefer that volunteers spend a minimum of 1 month at our farm.
Nearby Attractions
We have nearby attractions of about 30 minutes away such places as the Elephant Sanctuary, Deerland & Seladang (wild ox sanctuary). About hours away we have the beautiful National Park (Taman Negara) and 3 hours away, for those who like climbing mountains, we have the Cameron Highlands and quiet Frasers Hill. Apart from that we have the Cherating Beach in the East Coast, just two hours away.
Not attached to the fruits of labour:
Our holy book, the Bhagavad-gita teaches us not to be attached to the results of work but to just do our duty. And as a non-profit organisation all our results are channelled towards spiritual, cultural and charitable causes. As such workawayers helping us will also be benefiting spiritual merits of their hard dedicated work.
Our welfare work includes handing out free vegetarian food and fruits to the needy especially to school children.
For those who can spend more than 3 months with us and who are committed to helping us with our planned work, we may be able to make a gift from our hearts some financial assistance for your onward journey as our humble reciprocation.Etwas mehr Information

"As Workaway ambassadors, what we loved at the farm was the warmth of the team! They welcomed us with nice curiosity, some fun and a great pleasure. Any help is welcome, whatever your capacities, the tasks are varied and everything is flexible. While the farm is not 100% organic, the upside is you are really involved in the reality of their daily life: the tasks, their smiles, their happiness, the pleasure of fresh fruits and the amazing food !!"
