  Beschreibung

  We want to invite you to spend two weeks of summer at our English School in Bucharest, participating in educational and leisure activities.
  Our project is about children and their development. We offer educational programmes for children with ages 6 to 12 in one of the old working districts of Bucharest. We are looking for an active person who enjoys the company of kids and understands their needs.
  
  We are keen on language practice, creative, interactive, fun and educational activities, which aim to promote the beauty of the English language among children, improve their ability to communicate freely in English and encourage them to discover its secrets in a fun and exciting manner. Our mission is educating children in a funny and friendly way.
  Our main purpose is to expose them to native speakers and to different cultures. Most of the kids we work with have never traveled abroad. We want to offer them a different kind of summer holiday and to provide an alternative to the school environment by involving them in fun cognitive activities as well as physical activities, dancing and indoor exercises, painting and art activities, foreign language classes, singing and spending time together in good company.
  We welcome new ideas and initiatives, arts&crafts activities, talent shows, karaoke, face painting and walks in the park or activities in the kids' playground at the mall near by.
  We also work with neurodivergent (ADHD) with high IQ, so some pedagogical skills in this area would be much appreciated. But we can offer all the required training.

  Dealing with children is always a challenge - promoting respect while still becoming their friend is an even bigger challenge. You will learn to adapt to the rhythm of each child in order to fulfil their needs.
  You will have the opportunity to learn a lot of things about our country, our lifestyle, our gastronomy, our language. We will provide all the information and support needed and you will be part of our family and get invited to all our get-togethers.

  Arbeit

  We need help with:
  - creating and getting involved in games in order to help kids speak English
  - speaking with children in English as much as you can
  - managing classroom behaviour and ensuring that all children participate in all activities
  - preparation and execution of activities and materials needed - we provide the supplies
  
  We ask:
  - English, native or C1/C2
  - age above 18
  - knowledge of other languages is a plus
  - preferably: training and / or experience working with children, but not mandatory
  - 3 hours of work a day, Monday to Friday
  - Non smoker

  Unterkunft

  You will stay in a fully-furnished, bnb-style studio apartment in a residential building in Bucharest, in a different neighbourhood. It includes a private parking space (closed gate).
  The apartment has good bus connection to the center of the city. The closest metro station is a 15 minute walk away. There is a Lidl adjacent.
  You will be alone in the apartment. We do not provide food and there will be a maximum allowance on electricity bill (for exemple, AC is available but we would have to negotiate its use).
  As you will leave the apartment we will clean the apartment together and get it ready for the next volunteer. This is a must!
  No parties/get-togethers are allowed in the studio. The city's night life should be plenty offering if this is desired.
  We offer to pay for in full for the metro pass.

  We can help you with all the arrangements needed for a an enjoyable stay in Romania.
  The minimum service for each volunteer will be: 2 weeks (around 5 hours a day)
  You will help us organize the activities, supervising the kids during the week organizing arts&crafts activities, talent show, karaoke, face painting and walks in the parks or activities on the kids playground in the mall near by.
  There will be a maximum of 10 kids and two teachers.
  We are very flexible in general so if this project sounds interesting for you, do contact us to discuss the details through messages/emails and also on Skype/ WhatsApp.
  
  We prefer a couple so they can easily share the studio apartment and the activities.
  Also a couple with one child can comfortably live in the apartment and the child can join his/her parents in playing with the local kids.
