Natalia was a gift this fall in the house, she adapted very well to the rhythm and circumstances of the moment and always with a lot of attitude and worrying about any little thing.
She is very easygoing and independent, as she is connecting to everyone, but she is still happy when she sometimes has to spend time alone.

They are beautiful souls, kind, open, caring, interesting, and they made me feel very comfortable from the beginning... I've met some of their friends, neighbours and family and they are all
… read more such a nice group of people... Life in the hamlet is very peacefull and the views are stunning... The work to be done was making the house pretty and cozy, and new ideas were welcomed (they already did an amazing job!)... And also looking after Bruno, a giant and sweet puppy, taking him for walks along the river... I had an amazing time with them full of good conversations, meals together (they both cook so yummy!) and "therapy" nights... I had an amazing few weeks out of time in Mondariz with Vanessa, René and Anibal !
Warm and welcoming people, they'll make you feel part of the family as soon as you arrive. The house is big so you'll also have your own space and a lot of free time to do whatever you like.
The work was interesting (a whole range of activities, from digging a
… read more trench, drilling tubes, making cement and repairing cracks, cleaning with karsher...) and Anibal was always there to explain how it had to be done, the purpose of it and to help. The work was sometimes physical, but we could go at our own rhythm, there is no pressure in this place. We worked a few hours every weekday, and of course our help was always welcome for everyday life tasks. The work will of course evolve as the project goes on, but you can be assured it's going to be in the same spirit.
The house is located in a beautiful environment of small mountains, there's a river nearby where you can go have a swim everyday after work (the best feeling, never missed a day !), and a lot of tracks to hike or go with the bike.
It is just such a nice place to feel useful in the work, learn new things, and then relax in good company, take time to think, to read, to cook great food together, enjoy delicious apple cakes, have discussions until late in the night, lie down in the garden stargazing... A lot of good memories :)

To be able to welcome Vincent was a gift
Since the very moment he arouse riding his bike, we could guess the sort of person he could be
He soon showed how joyful and grateful he is.
As regards to the work we were intended to perform, he always showed himself ready 100 per cent, never a fuss a complain or any sign of anoyement. Trully it amazed me
… read more the eager way he had to face the jobs commanded. He used to explain his will for learning new things.
People like Vincent are the ones everyboby dream to house for a while. He is an itchyfeet, no way to remain for too long in the same place.
We made diferent Jobs to complete the house drainage for the rain. In fact, watching at Vincent, he looked like any tradesman doing his job. It really surprised me his everlasting energy. After lunch he engaged himself searching for trails to cycle. At night he was very concerned about making the best of the apple tree next to the house. Apple scramble and another four or five receips were the midnight dessert of everyday. All of us felt really spoilt by his caring.
Once Vincent kept his way, he left an indelible footprint upon Mondariz. We are looking foward to have him again any summer in the time to come.

What an experience. Staying with Vanesa, Anibal & Renee truly was an unforgettable couple of weeks. They were kind, welcoming, patient, generous, interesting and everything else you hope your hosts to be.

… read more project from start to finish. Anibal always made sure we were comfortable with the work we were doing and was patient in talking us through and showing us each task we needed to do.
We tended to work in the mornings and the rest of the day was spent going to the local river for a swim (a little piece of paradise 800metres away), eating amazing food, helping in the kitchen, sharing stories & ideas, playing with the dogs, hiking, cycling in the area..
They make amazing food and are very happy when other people cook. And they also have an apple tree for making cakes!!
If you get the opportunity to come here, do it. The work's fair, its interesting, you'll meet their family and friends who'll just drop in at any moment and stay for a few days (they will be just as equally warm and kind) and you will come away having helped amazing people, learnt, discovered and be grateful for the time you got to spend with them.
