Hey! We are The Island!
My name is Isla, and me, my family and a couple of friends are acting around the world looking for a more sustainable way of living and like this trying to make the world a better place to be...
We have a piece of land in South of Brazil. Where we would like to develop sustainably and in the future build a beautiful community that views the balance and connection between humans and nature.
We also just open up a hostel in Paranagua, where we are looking for support atm,
There is one private room in there available for volunteers...
If you are interested in exchanging some time in there for a couple of hours of work in the week, please do not hesitate in contacting us!

We are based in the middle of the Mata Atlântica, with a beautiful diversity of nature, rivers, waterfalls, plants and animals. You gonna have a great experience being immersed in the nature. Trying some local food, meeting some new people, teaching and learning, sharing different cultures and languages.
The hostel is also based in a super sweet town by the sea, very historical buildings, and some nice cultural things and activities to explore around...
Arbeit
Right now we are in need of help in our land in Serra Negra, Guaraqueçaba / Brazil.
Specially with the garden and construction, mostly bio construction/Sustainable construction.
Helping us hosting at our hostel in Paranagua. House care and reception.

Unterkunft
In the land, we can offer a bed in a shared room. Basically our main house have around 6 beds and 3 couches, plus some extra mattresses. We have a lot of outside area also for camping, for the ones who prefer to have a bit more privacy.
Two toilets with shower. But also the river in front of the house that can be used with natural soap.
One main shared kitchen.
In the hostel, we can offer one private room with a shared toilet and kitchen.

One of the extra activities we suggest is a day visiting the Reserva Natural Salto do Morato with a stop at Buffalo’s Bar where you can find some beer and wi-fi! Those places are around 30 min. from the land by car.
If you are in the hostel base. Try canoeing to the islands on the sunrise or full moon.
Or catch a normal boat to the islands around, there are many, the mais one is called Ilha de Mel.
There is also a caiçara cultural center after the bridge on the "Valadares" island, that offers events of music and traditional dance and drinks from time to time.
