I’m just starting an farm-project in the French countryside. It’s the very beginning.
I’m doing this on my own, with three very cuddly sheep 🐑 who help by looking cute (and eating the grass).
I can host 1 or 2 people max, aged 18 or over. No dogs, sorry — my sheep are afraid of them.
I will offer breakfast and a place to sleep : either in a caravan near the house, or in a tent if you prefer sleeping further in the field. And if the weather gets too bad, I can offer a room in the house. Afternoons are usually free.
Bigger renovations are planned, possibly in August or September (or later), and I’ll let you know if you’re around at that time.
If you’re okay with simplicity, nature, and lending a hand in a down-to-earth atmosphere, you’re very welcome!Arten von Hilfe und Lernmöglichkeiten

I’m hoping to improve my English, so I’m happy to chat or share tea breaks in a mix of languages. My closed neighbours are German and British, so you might bump into them too.
To be honest, I mostly need help — but I really enjoy hearing how people from other cultures see France. It helps me take a step back and see things differently.
I can share what I’ve learned so far… and probably also what not to do when starting a big project alone in the countryside 😅
If we both learn something (and manage to laugh a bit in the process), that’s already a win!Arbeit
Help depends on the season and what’s going on at the time. Right now, it’s mostly about:
Clearing brambles, weeds and small trees
Moving wood, branches, stones and other materials
Light DIY or outdoor repairs
Helping with fencing or basic structures
Occasionally helping with the sheep (they’re friendly!)
If you have skills in carpentry, building, plumbing or gardening, that’s great — but not required.
The most important thing is being okay with physical work, dirt, and a bit of improvisation.Sprachen

I’d love to improve my English and can help you with French in return – no pressure, just casual conversation during breaks or shared moments.Unterkunft
You’ll stay in a recent caravan — it’s not an old wreck, don’t worry 😄 — with a double bed (comfortable for one, or two if you're not too tall — otherwise, sleeping diagonally is the trick!).
The caravan has a gas stove, mini-fridge, chemical toilets, and water in jugs. No shower inside, but there’s a sink for basic washing.
A hot shower is available in the house (small water heater, so we’ll take turns). There’s also a microwave in the main room and a washing machine.
No TV, but there’s Wi-Fi, deck chairs, pétanque, Mölkky, and a stream nearby to dip your feet during heatwaves.
A dry toilet will be built soon – maybe with your help 😉Was noch ...
The place is still a bit messy — even though I’m usually quite tidy! I’m settling in, so thanks for being understanding.
🚭 No smoking anywhere on the property – even outside. The wind tends to bring the smoke straight into the house during breakfast, and that’s a hard no for me.
Please ask before using things, and always put them back where they were — I already spend too much time looking for my own tools 😅
🐑 Don’t feed the sheep — they get specific reward pellets only. Some plants and human food can be toxic to them.
🛒 The nearest town is Saint-Benoît-du-Sault (4.5 km) with all shops and basic services.
🚗 By car, you can explore:
The lake at Chaillac
The Eguzon water park
The "Valley of the Painters"
The Brenne Regional Park
🚲 Sadly, no bike available yet.
💧There’s a private access to the stream on the land — but with heatwaves, it might be more of a trickle than a river.
🐓 Also, fair warning: the neighbour has a rooster. If you're sensitive to noise, pack some earplugs!Etwas mehr Information

There’s Wi-Fi and a quiet indoor space if you need to work online. During the day, one of the rooms upstairs can be used as a small office. I only ask for a couple of hours of help per day, so it’s easy to combine with remote work. ⚠️ No mobile signal with SFR or Bouygues — only Orange (or Sosh) provides 3G reception here. So don’t rely on mobile data alone. Things are still a bit in progress, but it’s peaceful and flexible!
Platz zum Abstellen von Camper Vans
Van travelers welcome — you can park in the yard next to the caravan. There’s a long extension cord for basic electricity and a garden hose for water refills. No sewage hookup, but you can empty waste at Chaillac (10 min away).
Hier sind Haustiere in der Regel willkommen
Cats are welcome, but no dogs please — the sheep walk freely around the farm, and I want them to feel safe here so they keep coming back when there’s an issue with the fence (and that's every day XD)
