Beschreibung
Frutillar is a 10.000 citizens town in south Chile at the Llanquihue lake (largest lake in Chile) with 840 km2. Frutillar is internationally know because of is focus in classic art (classic music, ballet, jazz, etc). A new 20MMU$ theatre was built for this purpose, which is a awesome infrastructure for such a small town.
Our Hostel is in our family for 40 years and we are 2 km. away from the town. We receive tourist in December- February. Our customers are 90% families with kids.

We are in the rural zone, but very close to the town. Our place is perfect for all who want to live a country experience, with a great view. Our position is perfect to make short travels in 1 day to know other places near: The Osorno Volcano, Petrohue falls, Puerto Montt (capital of our region), Osorno (16400 years paleontology rests museum in Pilauco zone) and others.
Our zone is also the entrance door to the Patagonia Road.

Arbeit
We offer 5 working days weekly, 5 hours daily from April-November , and 6 from December-March (at weekend we need help to cook).
The work time is:
9:00 --> 12:00
14:00 --> 16:00 (from April - November) and 14:00 --> 17:00 (from December - March)
Volunteers can help us in a variety of projects:
1) Construction project: no need to have special knowledge
2) Web project: knowledge of web technology, video editing, flash video creation or artistic video creation
3) Gardens: we have a big zone for gardens and we need always help to maintain it.
The volunteer must arrive with good spirit for teamwork and to to be integrated in our family as a new member.
If you stay with us at the weekend's, you must help us to cook (1 hr help).

We offer food and rooms for individual volunteers and for couples.

If you have plans to visit the Chilean Patagonia, you can start your travel from Puerto Montt (58 km from Frutillar). Your options to visit the Patagonia (Torres del Paine) are bus (trough Argentina), airplane (directly to Punta Arenas) and Ship (Ferrie directly to Puerto Natales, near to Torres del Paine).
If you want to visit Argentina for a short time, you can travel to Bariloche (5 hours travel).
We don't have children's at home.
We have only little dogs (Chihuahuas and mini Dackel).

Helping Ricardo and his family was the best workaway experience I made! The family is very very warm hearded and a lot of fun!
